I went here this evening, hoping to get a taste of my favorite pizza from when I lived in Chicago 15 years ago... I was sorely mistaken...
I originally asked about buying Pie by the slice, but the young lady that helped me first told me they only did that until 8 (it wasn't 8 yet) so I grabbed a menu and started reading... all the front counter staff then disappeared to the back... I understand that the shop was busy, but she made eye contact a couple of times and refused to come back to the counter to take my order... eventually a young gentleman took my order, a 12" pizza ($12.99) and 2 toppings ($2 each), and the total he quoted me was $27... yes, TWENTY-SEVEN dollars!
I guessed I missed where Chicago started their 59% pizza tax because when I asked how we got from $13 to $27, his answer was "you asked for 2 toppings"
When I asked the young lady, who granted, was busy, how a 12" pie for $13 could get to $27, she responded kind of tersely "First off, I don't sell a 13" pizza, so you have to get a 12".
THAT was when I realized I was in a pizza equivalent of an Abbot and Costello routine so I gave up and left... FWIW, the young lady DID say "have a nice night" as I left in frustration... frustration the Rosati's...
Read moreThis Rosati's is the worst out of all of them. The manager is always dirty and appears to be on something, the assistant manager always has a nasty negative attitude. The young lady is always very sweet and helpful though.
Where do I start. I have only been here maybe 3 times since I moved over here and reach time I ended up with an upset stomach. There's only one time I ever have an upset stomach and that's with nasty food handling. Sometimes when people have nasty attitudes you put up with it when the food is amazing, you can't be nasty and nasty. They're dismissive, they aren't patient and they always pretend to be busy when you order, but you always come in to find someone on their phone.
Appearance means everything and I gave them a fair 3 strikes. I went to 7-Eleven to get my pizza and shockingly it was actually better than I expected. Please stay clear, and if you really want Rosati's, go to another location this one will make you sick. Also their hours on Google aren't correct so good luck calling during business hours to get someone...
Read moreHad a taste for pizza so decided to give Rosati's a try on 5/31/25 as I am familiar with Barraco's pizza joint nearby. I called the order in for a large 16 inch sausage, mushroom and onion pizza and wanted to try their dough nuggets. When I was in college in DeKalb, IL, many students ordered what was called "beer nuggets" which was cooked pizza dough in small pieces which was cheap, good and filling so wanted to see how these were.
I was told the order would be ready in 45 minutes so got there early and waited in the parking lot. When it was time, I went in to get my order which was ready. The young lady who tended to me was very friendly which I appreciated.
The dough nuggets were so so good! WOW! Flavorful, tasty with garlic and parmesan cheese on top of them. The pizza to hubby and I was just okay, nothing to ride home about. Barraco's is better, sorry to say. I will say that I will definitely come back for those nuggets though and highly recommend...
