I am trying to overcome a common cold but here’s my honest review:
Don’t walk, SPRINT to Samiflorencia African Cuisine!
I ordered the Goat pepper soup with fufu, the fried rice, and the pineapple ginger drink. I ordered from uber eats so the prices may not be the same
The pineapple ginger drink was amazing, 5/5! It reminded me of the drink we have back home in Ghana, as the ingredients were super fresh and they did not add much sugar which I love. It is a perfect palate cleanser
The goat pepper soup had bursting flavors that reminded me of my Nana’s own cooking. The meat was fresh, well seasoned, and tender (comes right off the bone). The soup was simple yet tasty and had some veggies which balanced the delicious, meaty flavor. The only complaint I have is that for the price, they should provide a bigger portion and more meat and bigger balls of fufu.
The fufu is not like the original Ghanaian fufuo which is fortified with plantain or cassava but it will do for the time being. Overall the two paired together make for a delicious meal 4/5, only bc the fufu wasn’t what I expected.
The fried rice wasn’t actual fried rice. It was more of a saffron or yellow rice. It has more or a steamed texture than fried, and I was expecting more but the veggies they pair with it are delicious and sautéed so the kind of made up for it. 2/5
The soup and the ginger drink actually helped heal my sickness. There is no mistake that this restaurant puts love into their meals and uses quality ingredients to fortify the structure, and taste of their cuisine. I have to say I am very impressed and 1000/10 will return in person...

so glad i gave african food another shot and im so happy that this is the restaurant i picked to try it at.
the portions are very generous and well worth the price. i had seafood okra with fufu and pepper sauce on the side. they did not skimp on flavor at all!!! the shrimp was cooked to perfection and the crab added a different nuance to the dish. this soup/stew had an abundant amount of seafood and somehow did not get fishy!!! that’s how you know that they know what they’re doing.
the person that answered the phone was very very polite and helped me choose from the offerings on her menu.
as an indian person, the flavors really were near and dear to me.
keep doing what you’re doing!!! this restaurant will be the heart of this neighborhood in no time. mark my words!!!! SO...
