It’s truly an honor and a blessing to have a place like this in our neighborhood. Vince and Mary started their first restaurant back in 1956 at 87th and Sangamon, and their legacy lives on here at the current location since 1967. This is an old-school, classic Italian Chicago, family-run restaurant is full of heart. They serve the best food on the South Side because every dish is made with LOVE and tradition. Thank you to John, Mickey, and the whole family for keeping this Chicago treasure alive for all of us!

Simply incredible! Lauren is fantastic. The broasted chicken is well worth the wait... it is delicious! This place is absolutely phenomenal. John is fantastic too. Please keep up the great work and I look forward to returning for great customer service and excellent food. I am a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines (25 years) and I will recommend this place to everyone that I encounter.

I just moved to the neighborhood and I love Vinces already. The owner and employees act like they want your business, and there's a lot of interesting things on the menu to try. The mazachioli is this massive pasta where if you're wanting some cheese, it'll give it to you. Add meatball to it. It's a good deal for the money here all around. I love the pizza here.

What an amazing pizza joint!! Flew into Signature Flight Support at Chicago Midway and had an hour and a half to kill before we flew out again, so we picked this place since it was only 3 minutes away. Got there and the dining room was closed due to staffing issues, we asked the owner (Vince’s son) if we could order take out and just sit at the bar and eat it. He begrudgingly obliged and simply said “Don’t expect great service!”. Well, we did not get great service, we got EXCEPTIONAL service! He chatted with us on and off for an hour, told us the history of the place, showed us the pictures on the walls of his family’s home town south of Rome, told us how badly he misses having his regulars coming and eating in the dining room. We ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza, and it was absolutely fantastic. After he brought us our pizza, he brought out a plate of their homemade (shaved off of the bone and seasoned in-house) sausage, he said that is what they are famous for, but he didn’t want to push it on us when we ordered. He was not wrong! That was the best sausage I’ve ever had on a pizza. For those that give a lower rating because this establishment has been forced to go to carry out only, cut them some slack, it’s hard to get GOOD people to work these days. In the food business, no service is much less damaging to your reputation than bad service. And those that complain about the “decor” or “ambiance” being outdated, go to the Cheesecake Factory and eat mediocre overpriced food in a renovated “picturesque” setting and help their CEO buy another yacht, or a third house in the Cayman’s. However if you want a great pie and other Italian dishes made from scratch by the 2nd generation owner using his fathers 70 plus year old recipes,...

I just wanted to make people aware of the unprofessionalism while trying to book their party room. My family booked my nieces baptism party 2 MONTHS ago in April, and we found out via Facebook and texts that our party is being is being pushed back an 1 & 1/2. We had it booked for 3pm this sunday and was told they made an "honest mistake" and that they would be having a buffet from 12-4. HOW?! how do you not tell the party that was already booked that there is a buffet going on in the same space our party is supposed to be. Invitations were already sent to family and friends, how are we supposed to tell our guests they have to wait around till 4:30 to eat? The space needs to be cleaned, we have to set up decorations, etc. Very unprofessional and the owner clearly didnt care because he had the nerve to say its "only an 1 & 1/2". Crazy how they left us with only a couple days notice....

Was hoping I would like this place more, as it was recommended by a coworker that grew up near here, claiming it was the best in the area. What really brought the score down was the poor customer service. When I went inside to pick up my pizza I stood at the pick up window for 10 minutes or more without a single person acknowledging me. It was close to their closing time, but still, anyone that could have said hello, be right with you, or have you been helped, would have made a world of difference. The worst part was that the girl that works there was standing 5 feet away from me flirting with some guys drinking at the bar the whole time. I think she might have been off the clock, but still, have the decency to call out for someone else to help me. Highly unlikely I will...
