Spiteful Brewing Tap Room — Restaurant in Lake View Township

Best tap house around. I live in Richmond Va where we have 30+ breweries and have traveled coast to coast visiting tap houses and tasting local beers across the country. I can honestly say Spiteful is the best.

Why?....simple....they don’t care what people think they are not catering to the masses they stick to their convictions and it shows in their beers. Simply...they are not sellouts! The beer is great and worth every penny. Their staff is friendly knowledgeable and more importantly, the owners are genuine good guys with Chicago blue collar roots! I will visit this tap house everytime I am in chicago. Their porter is the best god dam porter I ever had! Lastly, to my surprise, their beer is at the united center! Spiteful and Blackhawks....hell ya!

Right when you walk in you feel welcome. Could it be all the dogs in the bar, the colorful artwork and labels on the wall or the lack of tv’s showing local sports? Could be one of those reasons or all. Great place to come unplug and drink amazing beer like Belligerent Bob, Working for the Weekend or Spiteful IPA. They do not have a kitchen but do not worry they have cheese boards and sausages to snack on. Want to bring some home? They have cans to go so you can have your favorite beers later. Sadly you cannot drink their cans on premise, but that just means more for later! Street parking is your best bet if driving, but biking or walking from the 92 or 50 buses isn’t the worst! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to unplug, catch up with friends and enjoy...

Came up here on a whim on what ended up being a perfect Sunday summer afternoon - my partner and I wanted to check out Spiteful and Half Acre. After having one round in the beer garden at Half Acre, we came 'round and thought we'd plop down with the pup in Spiteful's gorgeous front patio – until we realized they were dog-friendly inside as well! Got a beer flight and just chilled... met some awesome dogs (and their cool people) and I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere - kept saying how I felt like we were on vacation in Chicago. Or maybe it was more like Chicago was on vacation? Garage doors were up, fresh plants framed the view out front, and the vibe was truly laid back. Service was perfect. I want to come back and...
