Details is what makes a difference between be excellent or average. And this though applies to Azul Tequila Restaurant. My wife and me stopped in this location last Saturday around 4:00 pm, I like be specific on day and time in that way give a better idea of my experience. PRO’s 1-Location is nice , great Mexican decoration . Complementing the environment plays Regional Mexican music on the background. Wasn’t a hot day but the restaurant feels warm inside. Needs work on this. 2- The food is great, excellent presentation , really tasty food. My wife ordered a Fajita Chimichanga and I ordered a Quesabiria Taco. Both were exquisite . The best Biria taco that I tried, I really recommend it. The plate comes with refried beans served in a tortilla bowl, with melted cheese (queso fundido) inside, and it was great. My surprise, the Mexican rice is good, best ever tried. My wife isn’t fan of the Mexican rice but she admitted that the rice was really good. 3- Price, really fair. If you have a big family and like Mexican food this is your restaurant. 4- Service, is where I split my opinion. When you walk in , the host greet you , and he had a table for us right away ( this is way I specify time and day). As soon you are seated a server brings you a service of chips (really good too) and sauce. Now go to the CON. CON’s 1- We were almost done with the chips when Speedy Gonzalez ( I explain why I use the nickname) showed up and ask right away what we want for drinks, never introduced himself. I didn’t order a Margarita because I was all day without eat, and the sugar is going to kill me. Just water and an Ice tea and I asked few minutes to check the Menu . Minutes later we ordered for us , the waiter took the order and said ā€œok ā€œ and tried to leave but we said wait! , we have another order to go. He wrote down the order, no words and gone. Looks like he was on rush. We were served, everything looks great but our waiter 1- never stopped to ask us how is the food, you know the routine. 2- as he never stopped by our table ,we couldn’t order extra chips 3- my drink never had a refill, my glass was sit on the conner of the table and everyone knows what this means. 4- the only moment that our server greeted with us was when he brought the ticket, before I asked forit, and offer us dessert but we were full. Then he tried to leave and I said wait!… and ask him where is my order to go? He replied with an Oh!.. I’ll be back. And we got our last order.

I have been dinning out with my wife for years and I discovered that few waiters when you don’t order drinks, the service is mediocre. Is a theory that I am working. I was planning tip just $1.50 to send a message but my wife told me don’t do it. I tip $5.00 with pain because our service from our waiter was low, really low. I saw in other tables the other waiters meet and spend time with the customer offering a nice service , but just one person makes this experience...

We recently moved into the area and wanted to support the local businesses, checked out local Mexican restaurants and found Azul. We saw the menu online which had the prices, placed our order over the phone and then came to pick up. When I arrived back to my vehicle I noticed that the prices I was charged on my card were almost $10 higher than the prices posted online. I went back in to the young lady up front which stated there was nothing she could do and that the manager was not present when I requested to speak with them as the prices posted online on their own website were very different than what was being charged. I asked her to please refund me the difference and she said she couldn’t do it without a manager present and shrugged her shoulders.

I called later as instructed after leaving to speak with the manager and was hung up on twice. Then I spoke to someone who said they were filling in for a manager and I would receive a callback to rectify the overcharge. It has been 4 months and I am still waiting.

We wanted to give this place a go and support our local businesses, I understand mistakes can happen to anyone but the way this transpired between the deceptive pricing, ā€œI don’t careā€ attitude from the young lady I spoke with in person and her refusal to help, and the management who dropped the ball for a simple issue that could of been fixed within a matter of seconds shows that this business does not care about its customers. It was a $10 lesson that we learned to never give a single dime to this establishment ever again.

In addition to all of this, the order we received was wrong. It takes years to build a good reputation and seconds to destroy it. For an issue that could of been fixed with 30 seconds of time and $10 they chose to be rude, dismissive, and lied about their pricing and when called out on it, they refused to do anything to address it. If I could give 0 stars I would. BEWARE OF THIS...

A friend and I visited the Lake Wales location a month ago during the day, and unfortunately, our experience wasn’t that great. When we walked in, we were impressed by the dĆ©cor; they did a wonderful job transforming the old Denny’s into a stylish Latin restaurant. However, the service left much to be desired. Our waitress was friendly but not very attentive. We waited quite a while for refills, napkins, and even the check. She would disappear for long periods, and we found ourselves wondering where she had gone, especially as we watched other tables being served multiple times. What stood out even more was the attitude of an older male waiter. He seemed visibly annoyed every time he looked our way and was outright rude. As we were leaving and trying to get my toddler daughter out of the aisle, we accidentally crossed paths with him while he was seating other guests. He was noticeably unpleasant in that interaction as well. What made us especially uncomfortable was seeing how much more friendly and attentive he was toward the Caucasian customers. It gave us the impression that he may have been prejudiced, which was incredibly disheartening. Because of this experience, we’ve decided we won’t be returning to this restaurant location again! We will continue to eat at plaza Mexico or Taco my friend where we dont have these kind of issues. On a more positive note, my husband visited the Sebring location and had a completely different experience. He said the food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The one highlight of our visit in Lake Wales was the young busboy (the one who cleans tables); he had a great attitude and was genuinely kind. Honestly, he made more of a positive impression than anyone else on staff that day....and...

Azul Tequila recently opened and we were excited to have a new option for Mexican food. After seeing several people we know post about it on Facebook we decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar, which as it is only 2 of us so it's our normal MO wherever we go now. We sat for about 5 minutes before anyone greeted us and brought us menus. About another 10 minutes to get the drink order. They were out of the wine we ordered (Pinot Grigio), so Diet Pepsi it was šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø. Soda came quick, chips and tiny bowl of hot (temp not spice) salsa, and order was taken. I got the quesabirria tacos and my wife got the chicken quesadillia. That was the last we saw of our bartender/waitress until we had to flag her down for to-go boxes and the check. Food came out quick and dropped in front of us (literally). They had to send a search party for silverware šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. Birria was pretty good. Came with rice and beans. Rice had flavor but was very dry. I had to pour some of the birria comsume over it. Beans were beans. Nothing of merit there. Wife enjoyed her quesadillia. Stuffed with flavorful chicken and cheese. She didn't care for the pico that came with it. After several tries to flag down someone for to-go boxes and the check we were finally successful. It was only at that time we were offered more drink (we were empty for a while), but we were just ready to go. All in all is was just ok. Nothing to get excited about. We will go back one more time to see if we were just there on an off night. Food-good. Service-much to be desired. Prices-a little on the high side. $19 for 3 tacos and $14 for a small quesadillia with no sides. Salsa is free at first, but $2.50 for additional servings.

This place is really clean and beautiful; issue is I came early Sept 2025, and I had an amazing steak dish with rice and beans. I then bring my family 2 weeks later they removed the steak that is advertised on their menu, replaced it with a thinner & cheaper steak. Not tasting the same and the price remained the same. Unfair. I then though ok nah e they made a mistake and I went 10/2/25 just yesterday and again cheap steak for this $24 plate, that’s when I questioned the waiter and I told him and he began laughing saying yes they removed the steak because the cost was too much so they replaced it with something cheaper and I said that’s not fair that’s false advertising. He then came back and said I told my boss because other people are complaining too. That should say a lot if you’re gonna replace it to something cheaper than your price needs to drop. That’s false advertising and I don’t think I’ll be going back!! Otherwise the Bahamas mama is awesome; staff is friendly.the last picture is what the steak should look which someone else uploaded vs. what I got on the first pictures
