My husband said: downright the best Creole we ever ate. Friendly staff, fresh food, definitely going back.
I say: my husband and I had an appointment not far away so we stopped by the Eagle Ridge Mall. It was a little late in the day and some of the other restaurants appeared to be winding down for the day with food that looked either sparse or like it might have been sitting for a while. We really wanted something different anyway and I'm not sure I've ever had Creole or anything like that. I like fish but fish sometimes isn't cooked to be tasty enough to make it worth fishing (pun intended) through bones and scales. We ordered and chose mild spice and waited because it was freshly cooked. The guy loaded up a tray so full I could barely carry it. There was a little salad, fresh cooked fried plantains and white rice on each dish. My husband got creole shrimp and ordered red snapper for me. Each came with lots of sauce. I tried my husband's shrimp and they were really good. I was almost sad I got the fish until I tasted mine. Totally amazing! There was so much food we were satisfied with about half of the meal. We just had some of the leftovers for lunch and they were just as awesome as they were yesterday. For anyone who hasn't tried Creole, I recommend coming here. This was...
Read moreI've been having a mini culinary adventure lately, thanks to a fantastic spot called Restro in the mall food court. It's amazing how a food court can surprise you! I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try some Haitian food for the first time, starting with their goat stew. Honestly, I was a little hesitant, but wow, it was incredible! So flavorful and satisfying. Then I tried their turkey, which was equally delicious. Today's adventure was the shrimp Creole, and again, Restro knocked it out of the park. The blend of spices and the freshness of the shrimp were just perfect. Before Restro, Haitian food was completely off my radar, and now I'm wondering what I've been missing all this time! It really feels like the mall food court is becoming this amazing hub for experiencing different cultures through food, and Restro Paradise is definitely leading the charge. If you're looking to expand your palate, I highly recommend...
Read moreDo not let the location fool you. This Haitian restaurant exceeded all expectations! The standout dish for me was the legume — rich, hearty, and packed with bold, authentic flavor. What made it even better was the option to choose your preferred meat. I went with shrimp and it was tender and seasoned to perfection, blending beautifully with the vegetable medley. Every bite brought comfort and culture to the table.
But the real star of the show was the Tasso Kabrit (fried goat). Wow. Hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. It was bursting with flavor — juicy, well-marinated, and perfectly cooked. Not a hint of dryness, which can be tricky with goat, but they nailed it. Moist, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying.
If you're craving real Haitian food made with love and authenticity, this is the spot. I’ll...
