They can't run a Wawa to save their life! Some of the staff are very nice but this has to be the WORST Wawa in the USA, and I have been to enough to know! In multiple states!!! It is sad since the owners of the company live not even 15 mins from the location. You would think they would care to run it right!! They cannot keep fresh food going passed midnight most nights now, and even the employees know it is mismanaged and complain to customers. This is UNACCEPTABLE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED!! Promptly by the owners!!! I have applied multiple times as well to this specific location, and am qualified to run the store! And still can't get hired on with 30 years of work experience and years of management under my belt! Hilariously awful! I would sure do a better job running it then the incompetence of the management and their complete inability to run a Wawa here!! Plus the bathrooms are horrible there, and worse than the busiest locations in the busiest cities I have been in to use!!! How!? when they barely even have customers passed 10PM!!! All I can say is sheer incompetence and mismanagement! I will never set foot in this location as long as I live! If You go to Winter Haven, it is night and day from the Lake Wales location. Davenport is excellent! Yet leave it up to Lake Wales to mismanage an easy job!!! Way to go ruining Wawa for the locals! Read moreIt's insane that I just got yelled by trying to help what I thought was a busy elder person being busy at work walking back to the backroom. Happens that straws ran out and I saw some in the back of the counter. As I try to reach them the same elder comes out yelling at me like I'm their kid and having the whole store as an audience to the top of their lungs " YOU CAN'T BE BACK HERE SIR" at least she was polite about the sir part, but to yell to a paying customer trying to help what they thought was an elder busy and simply help by getting a bunch of straws and help fill ir up as my background in the service industry has thought me and to be yelled at in front of my family and store by someone I was taught to help and respect for lending a helping hand. Read moreI had an online order for pickup and when I got there, the coffee drinks were ready, but the food was not. I asked the employee behind the food pickup counter about my order. He said they would get on it right away. Mind you, it had been 20 minutes since I placed the order. Then I watched as one employee went over to the checkout, grabbed the croissants we had ordered, and then brought them to us. I think they're missing the point. But oh well, we've gotten food here often and it is always exceptional. Today was no different.
Side note- a lot of people around here are completely ignoring mask signs. This Wawa is no different. I imagine the employees simply don't feel comfortable asking people to put a mask on. I know there is a lot of controversy around this topic, but if that means something to you, then its something to consider. Leaving a one star review because of this, however, is not...
