Unfortunately a little disappointing for an off-hour order of burrito. When I entered in the place definitely seemed a lot bigger than it does outside. The floors and seating looked clean.
I had a grande Al pastor burrito and a medium horchata to find that the burrito was not filled up completely from both ends. I know this because my first bite was a familiar taco bell value burrito bite - it was toasted layered flour tortilla. It was strange to see an absence of other ingredients, as I saw some cheese and rice spread on one half but the marinated pork bite was alright.
Their "spicy" sauce was more tame than Hay Chihuahua's or your pre-packaged chili and lime chips. You'll likely get a stronger lime zest than you will spice.. and I'm not sure if this was standard procedure but they had a plastic-wrapped bucket where they stored the concentrated horchata and poured some of that with some ice cubes into the cup. Felt a bit unsanitary from first glance.
The horchata itself tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk, which in its own right tastes...
Read moreWe've ordered from here 15+ times and usually had a good experience, but most recently the people working, who I assume were owners, were unbelievably rude. We ordered tacos and they came with lettuce and cheese, an option on the menu, but we've never had them default to that ever before, and no one asked which version of toppings we wanted. When we called to see if we could get the tacos we wanted, we were met with hostility but ultimately they asked us to bring the tacos back to get new ones. We're close so we were fine with that. From the second we walked in the woman working was extremely rude and argued about it. Something so simple that we weren't mad about, just wanted fixed, became a massive issue. In an area with plenty of other options I won't be ordering from them again. $5 worth of tacos is not worth being spoken...
Read moreI have been a very loyal customer of Sergio's since they opened in April, 2005! By far they have the BEST Mexican Food in the entire Northern IL area! Sergio is an awesome owner and a very personable host. He will even cook dishes that aren't on the menu (yet) like the awesome Mexican Omelet. I urge you to stop by and try Sergio's and you will agree that their food is second to none. I live fairly close to Sergio's and typically walk there (even in heavy snow) to eat in their clean dining room. I would walk a mile in a blizzard to eat...
