The Lakeland Ice Cream Company’s are the BEST ice cream shops in Lakeland! There’s hardly competition and if you have been to one then you understand.
Having this location in South Lakeland closer to where I live is dangerous. The original is in way North Lakeland, and there’s also one in Mulberry (called the Mulberry Ice Cream Company). But regardless which store you go to, it’s a consistent and delectable product.
They have a dozens of flavor options, from a full case of sorbets to kiddie options like superman to all the chocolate heaven you could want. They handmake the ice cream and you can tell when you have it, it’s just different than other places.
I usually end up trying something different every time I come since there are so many options- there truly hasn’t been one I haven’t like yet. And you can taste test if you’re having a hard time deciding, which would be understandable.
This location is cute- it’s where the south Swan Brewing bar used to be so they kept the bar up and refashioned it to work as more of an old school ice cream parlor feel.
Another fun part of these ice cream companies- they also have homemade waffle cones, like literally almost double digit flavors, and you can get the famous ice cream burrito or ice cream nachos. If you’re a fan of malt flavors the malts they make are...
Read moreGreat ice cream and cool little place to be at on a warm Saturday night. They were not prepared for the amount of people coming to the shop that nice. There were like 6 parties of 4 or more while we were there and only 1 of 2 people really assisting customers. I feel like hair nets is hair pulled back should be required as I watch the young lady dip ice cream with her hair down hovering all the various other ice creams. The guys hair was at least pulled back in a ponytail. It is a little pricey for ice cream, but the selection is the largest I have seen in a long time. Seating was limited except the soda bar which has a restriction regarding well behaved children. TV was playing some teen show not really interesting. Location of the shop was hard to find as the outside lights were not lite up and being in the corner of a shopping complete with Winn Dixie. The outside vibe was bland being next to a grocery store, but once inside it has that soda shop feel. I recommend if you looking for ice cream with a wide variety of flavors minus hair, but be patient as staffing is poor. May be faster to get ice cream from Winn-Dixie and still have money in the wallet. Up to you decided what you want but they do have Cheerwine in...
Read moreWe usually have a great time here and the service is usually great. By far my favorite ice cream in Lakeland. Tonight was a different experience, me and my boyfriend went in at 8:30 (they closed at 9). I’ve worked retail so I understand someone coming in near closing time can be frustrating. But it takes 5 minutes max to scoop ice cream in a cup for me. I am not sure of the girls name but she had short blonde hair with glasses. Her attitude was dismissive and short. Clearly showing that she did not want to serve us as it was obvious and made us feel awkward and hesitant to be in the store. When I went to pay, I had two $10 gift cards to the store. My total was $15 and some change so I swiped the first and she was quick to say “Your card has an insufficient balance” knowing I had another card to swipe after I told her how I was paying. It all felt very personal and made our overall quick trip to get ice cream...
