China Garden — Restaurant in Lakewood Park

I've eaten at China Garden about 100 times now. They never disappoint with the quality of their food and service.

The customer service at china garden is outstanding. The people that answer the phone are prompt and knowledgeable about the menu. You will receive great service calling here no matter the time of day or how busy they are (and they get crazy busy).

In the 2 years I've been ordering here I have not a gotten a single order that was incorrect in any way - be it prices, quantities, extras or any special requests. I mean this in a very matter of fact way; not a single time has anything been wrong. The woman that runs the FoH and the man whom I presume to be the manager are absolute machines.

The food they serve is some of the best chinese food I've had anywhere. Their wontons and dumplings are quite obviously hand made and delicious. They would have to sew them shut to get any more of their amazingly flavored meat into them; the home made dumpling sauce is equally fantastic - I always order extra.

The shrimp you get with a proper shrimp dish are enormous and have an amazing amount of flavor - I wouldn't be surprised if they're from a local fisherman.

I also really like the chicken with cashew - loads of vegetables and chicken in a light sauce

By far and away though the item I get the most is the Mei Fun. They have such good noodles and cook them perfectly. The amount of meat and veg is perfect while not being too oily or heavy at all, I get it once a a week at least.

I’m really glad I found this place — honestly, just great food every single time. I’ve been ordering from here for a while now, mostly takeout, and not once have I had a bad meal. Everything I’ve tried has been tasty, fresh, and well-made. You know how sometimes you keep going back to a place because it’s just reliable? That’s exactly how I feel about this spot.

I usually call in my order, and by the time I drive over, it’s ready. No waiting around or surprises, which is honestly rare these days. The service is great too — super friendly, even just for takeout. They greet you with a smile, hand you your bag, and you’re good to go.

There’s seating inside if you feel like staying, and it’s cozy — nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. I haven’t dined in yet because takeout is just so easy and convenient, but it’s nice knowing it’s there if I ever want to sit down.

All in all, this place has become a go-to for me. Good food, fast service, and fair prices. What more can you ask for? If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely...

I'm blown away. Look, I'm not saying you'll experience true Chinese cuisine. In the US, you rarely will. But for American Chinese, it was really something to experience. Shrimp toast, which most Americans have not experienced, is noteworthy. Try it. Such a great appetizer. As is usual with great dishes, it's simple and well executed. I ordered many things. It's what I do. Every one of the things I ordered was noteworthy. I find, it's not what you serve, it's how it is done, that makes a dish good, bad or forgotten. I'm a truck driver and drive the whole US. Born in California and raised in Wyoming, I have experienced a spectrum of culinary offerings. The China Garden is a place that should be explored.
