That Sushi Spot Lakewood — Restaurant in Lakewood Township

Good quality sushi and friendly service in downtown Lakewood. Quite a few different rolls and small dishes to choose from. They also had two types of boba tea, and the one we got was good. The service was friendly and they even gave us an extra dish that was made by mistake. But note this a counter order / takeout shop, not a sit-down restaurant w/ sushi bar. That was not clear to me when I went. If dining in, you order on tablets at the shop and they bring it out. Or you can order ahead and pick it up to go. Most of their business seems to be takeout. This is not a fancy place by any means. On the plus side, you don't have to tip a server. Pretty small inside, about 4 four-tops and 4 two-tops. Not dirty inside, but they should take some time cleaning the floor and windows more, as well as tidying up the inventory that's stacked up by the windows, to give it a nicer, more welcoming...

Sorry forgot to take pictures. My wife craves Sushi, however, she has two constraints: 1. She has Celiac so everything she eats needs to be GF (gluten free), 2. She doesn't like raw fish (fried/cooked is fine). Not many sushi places cater well to these demands. If they have a cooked role it's usually crunchy of some kind (not GF). And the more simple options like nigiri aren't served cooked. Almost none keep GF sauces like Soy (which normally contains gluten).

All this prologue to say that That Sushi spot in Lakewood was able to satisfy my dear wife's craving. They where able to produce two delicious rolls according to these exacting requirements. Not only did they provide the rolls but also had GF sauces (they still had some from Pesach!) to go with it.

Ordered a platter. Nice option to have, but chef's choice was disappointing. Teo raw fish items and the rest California rool,avacado toll , one tempura roll, cooked tuna and salmon. It was fresh rice , disappointing . Provide spices and sweet spices, the packages of poor quality soy sauce speaks volumes of their commitment to offering good sushi. This establishment has eat in , but you wouldn't want to go, it is dark, not inviting or conducive for having a good experience. If hou don't cate for quality, or real sushi, this is your place.
