I went into a Total by Verizon store to take advantage of a promotion regarding bringing in your old phone/ service to receive 50% off whatever monthly plan you decide to go with. I opted for the $60 unlimited plan which would have come out to $29.80 per month PLUS unlimited service to Disney + for as long as you have the plan with uninterrupted payments. I agreed and in the process of transferring my existing Verizon phone number the manager helping me did not do what they are calling “transferring the port” correctly. He then added an additional line that needed a new SIM card in hopes of not having to start over. Telling me this was the only way to continue with the transferring of my original phone number. He charged me an additional $35 for the SIM & activation for a phone number/ additional line I DID NOT NEED as told to me by Total by Verizon tech support. I was only able to use my old Verizon phone number if he “deactivated” the new number on my cellular plan. After 5 days of using my old number, the phone number I’ve had for 12 years - all service stopped. Owning a freelance business that relies on contact with my clients this was detrimental, considering the line dropped in the middle of a phone consult. Since he was out of the store the night and two days following what happened I had to contact Total by Verizon via phone. They told me I had no such plan attached to the number I had brought from Verizon. They could not find an account attached to the number I had been using since I started this service. After hours on a three way call with Verizon and Total by Verizon they told me the port was finally properly transferred and that everything was resolved. When asked if I would still have the promotion that was given to me in the store, if what had happened with the phone number had affected the promotion they told me no. That I would still be receiving that promotion to my account. Three days prior to my first account “refill”, I tried multiple times calling Total by Verizon but when the system “checks the number I’m calling about” all service to my phone disconnects and I have to wait for my cellular plan to be reactivated manually. The Disney+ Subscription was canceled and no longer active. Today I made the payment online of $59.08 - not a number that I EVER agreed to. Within 5 min of my payment being processed service to my phone number was disconnected. After powering my phone off for 10 min, upon start up it told me my cellular plan needed to be activated ONCE AGAIN. I have had Verizon for over 11 years, thinking I made a smart financial move coming to Total by Verizon. This transfer of phone service has caused me nothing but financial loss the entire first month that I’ve had this service. I am disappointed and not one member of Total by Verizon has been able to give me any sort of explanation besides I was never suppose to have been given a second line.
