California Tacos — Restaurant in Lakewood

Was really disappointed with the service I received today. I was hyping this restaurant up to my friend and they were extremely rude. We ordered our food and sat down and they were extremely nice bringing out my daughters food. About 10 minutes after we ordered a group of 3 people came in and a few ordered the same thing we did. As well as a to go order who got their food before us. We waited about 25 minutes and in that span they other group received their food and they ordered alot. I kindly asked if they knew a status on our food and was given a eye roll and snobby remark. They eventually came out with the rest bagged up ready to go when I only asked for one meal to go. My friend waited a additional 8-10 minutes for her food and at that point we have a energetic toddler that was done with her food so we kindly asked for it to go and was yet again treated very rudely. We got home and our entire order was wrong, my burrito and hers as well and she’s even allergic to what she asked not to be burrito but it was put on anyway. Very poor customer service there was even a gal that ordered right after my friend and I and by the time we left she hadn’t received her food either.

I’ll give 2 stars for the overall experience. Food was a slap in the face for a place called California Tacos. I grew up near LA where we have great Mexican food.

The service was garbage. The girl seemed irritated that I ordered using their number system. I asked for a #7 and she looked at me like I was weird. She had to look at the menu for herself to see what we had ordered. My daughter didn’t want beans. She wanted all rice and that seem to irritate the girl to that we didn’t want beans. Everything we ordered seem to bother her. Maybe she just was having a bad day I don’t know. When I asked for a water cup with some ice, she was bothered by it when I got water from the dispenser it was almost out and particles of random black things were floating in it.

The food was just OK and didn’t live up to the name California Burrito.

The restaurant smelled like a giant urinal cake.

I will not be returning to this establishment and I really hope I don’t get sick tonight. Id be surprised if this place didn’t get shut down for...

I ordered a glass of water. Particles were floating in it. I asked for another glass of water and explained the issue. The second glass of water had particles floating in it. I received my food, and there was at least 1 spot on the plate from the previous meal, which gave me the impression that the plate had not been properly washed.

Time was running short, so I decided to ignore the warning signs. Maybe I was just being picky.

My body later informed me that I poisoned it, and I felt the effects for several hours. It felt like the flu.

If you wish to avoid becoming ill, then do not eat at this establishment. Hopefully my post will inform others while preventing illness and death in the local community.

The food was average and tasted okay, though it was definitely overpriced. I can't overlook the fact that I could've been hospitalized or dead though, and people generally aren't supposed to get sick from restaurants or eat from filthy dishware, so unfortunately I have to give 1 star. I hope everyone...
