Lake City Perk Espresso — Restaurant in Lakewood

I don’t leave these kind of reviews often but I’ve had two strange experiences now at this coffee stand and I’m not sure how it has such good reviews. My first visit I was kept waiting in my car while the barista talked to someone on her cell phone about “getting her money”then she went into far too much detail with me on some personal things when she finished the call and it was honestly pretty uncomfy. The drink she made me (flavored Red Bull) was thick and syrupy and not in a good way- I couldn’t even finish it and wasted $10. Then today I went in with my partner and the wait was pretty long which is ok- I think one of the baristas was in training and we are patient. But when we got to the window to order, they completely ignored my partner (we walked up) and only took my drink order. When finished making my drink they said the total and I explained we needed another drink and they finally acknowledged my partner and slowly made the second drink. It was a protein shake and it tasted like straight cocoa powder with huge ice chunks- again not palatable at all. My coffee was fine but I could make better myself at home and it was so hot I couldn’t drink it for quite some time despite the cold walk home. 😭 Overall, just strange and disappointing experiences and I won’t be returning which is a bummer because it’s by far the closest...

Amazing coffee and such a variety of other drinks! The staff... They are on another level... When I pulled up today I had to wait a bit for the customer in front of me... As they left and I pulled up to the window... My server hands me my drink already made. He knew exactly what I always order and I have only been going there for a few weeks! Outstanding Service and always a great experience!! It's so nice seeing a business doing things the right way! Kudos to the Team and keep up...

Excellent coffee. I'm a picky coffee drinker & just moved to Lakewood. I gave it a skeptical try this morning and was SHOCKED at how strong, bold and flavorful it was. The bonus is, it's much more affordable than Starbucks with better flavor! Go figure! I've never had a truly great cup of coffee at a small kiosk like this one before now. And as luck will have it, I'm blessed with it being incredibly close! I drink an Americano with extra room for cream; 1/2 to 1 packet...
