Laventina's Pizza — Restaurant in Lakewood

We tried this pizza spot based on the reviews from our family and friends.

My review on this is based on the service we received. I talk about the pizzas below as well. A very disappointing experience and unfortunate.

Service: The worst. The people that work there are very rude and they don’t care at all. We had paid extra for a different crust and they made the pizzas thin crust. We showed them the online confirmation with the details and they just said it’s a glitch in the system. They wouldn’t make us new pizzas or refund us for the extra we paid for the different crust. They essentially said take it as is or leave and didn’t care at all. Despite the pizza be good, I don’t think I’d come back given what happened.

Food: The chutney pizza was good. It was a unique style pizza and was the right amount of spicy. It is a Jain pizza which is a bonus as it’s a great option for Jain people. The Thai Chili pizza was okay. I expected it to be spicier or as spicy as the Chutney pizza but it wasn’t even closed. It felt more like a basic pizza with tomatoes and onions. It’s okay but nothing different. We also got garlic knots, they were okay, tasted like frozen knots and the sauce it came with was awful, tasted like it was just sugar. I wouldn't recommend the knots.

Ambiance: It's a to go place, not a sit down place.

Just went for dine in and had chutney pizza. Cheese under the chutney all burnt. Asked to remake them they said they cannot make it cause we ate the pizza and they cannot help because they say thats how they make it everyday(a burnt cheese). As you see it we were 2 people and we tried each 1 slice of it. We asked for refund gentlemen on counter refused it stating we ate the 2 slices from the large pizza. Little back and forth in argument and finally refunded. Last again the gentleman ask us whats wrong we left the pizza there on table hopefully he could taste and make some better pizza for the customers. WARNING Don’t GO THERE. Food and services...

So the first time i went here was early last year and i was blown away! Then i heard about their chicken tandoori pizza and had to try it...needless to say it was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in my life! They really know how to make a specialty pizza, especially one derived from an amazing indian dish. I come here about once a month for their chicken tandoori.

Update: So over the year and a half i have been coming here i have never been let down, the pizza dough is amazing! And their specialty pizzas are a must have! PS i have had the chicken tandoori pizza...
