It has multiple restrooms located on opposite ends of the park. Lots of recreational stuff to do during the summer, you can vote here during elections, has pool, you can rent a room for parties, has softball fields, tenis courts, basketball hoops, two playgrounds (the one for smaller kids is gated with picnic benches, the big kids playground is surrounded by open grass and lots of space) both have sand. Parking is pretty decent at Mayfair. During weekends parking is harder. I'm not sure how much 'crime' happens here. No smoking. This park was definitely paid for with children in mind, as a place where families with children are welcomed.
No Pets allowed there are signs throughout. This is not a place for dogs, especially unleashed ones. A kids was on his skateboard and a unleashed dog went to attack the skateboard and knocked the kid off his board. Another unleashed dog went into the women's restroom and his owner (a man) went in to get his dog but little girls from the softball team were in there. Another unleashed dog (golden retriever) jumped on a small child for pitching a baseball. Also unleashed dogs that see other leashed dogs often fight, we've seen this many times at Mayfair Park. So take your pets to a dog park to be safe.
Pretty active park with lots of youth sports like softball, soccer and flag football teams practicing here. Friendly neighborhood. The river bank/channel is a hot spot for suspicious activity. Overall great...
Read moreClean, friendly staff, easy access. Saw the employees hanging out with the kids in the after school program. They were fully involved and dedicated quality time to them. Some were enjoying quality play time being active and others were doing arts and crafts. This is a pleasant family environment. There is also a pool that was closed, it was cold and rained later that night. Our friends booked the multi purpose room for a wedding and were very pleased by the location and access to the bathrooms and kitchen. The staff came out to make suggestions regularly and to make sure everyone was safe and comfortable. Highly...
Read moreStaff was very rude. Felt unwelcomed at the pool because I was not from the neighborhood. One of the staff members asked if I was a Lakewood resident and when I said no he snatched a a five dollar bill from my hand and said the fee wasn't discounted. I asked how much is the fee and in the most rude way possible replied with "Five dollars!" The shower rooms had no privacy and there was nearly nowhere to change. It was very hard to get yourself some privacy without having to go into a bathroom stall. Also they didn't give you enough time to change out of your pool clothes. They practically rushed you out of...
