First of all, I ordered in my app, as I always do, and proceed to wait in the drive thru with other customers. The app tells me a wait time of 3-6mins. After the Lakewood officer in front of me places his order at the sign, I'm told to wait a moment, I don't mind, I'm in no hurry, I've just eaten lunch at Captain Crab, I'm happy as a clam, lol. The girl, yes, girl, who rudely takes my name, proceeds to tell me that they usually require a 10min lead time on mobile orders as they get lots of orders. FIRST OF ALL, there's hardly any cars in the lot. There's literally only the police vehicle in the drive thru in front of us. How f'ing busy are you? SECOND OF ALL, why does YOUR app say there's a wait time of 3-6mins if you say there's a 10min wait time for orders? THIRD OF ALL AND MOST IMPORTANT, if I come to the sign and order my cold brew (that I ordered in my app) is it really going to take you 10mins to dispense it from the tap? The last time I checked, a cold brew is literally 1 of the easiest items on the menu. And in all honesty, I had to add hot coffee to my cup once I got back to my hotel because there was hardly any cold brew in the trenta cup I ordered. I have visited probably each of the Starbucks in the Lakewood area the whole 2wks I have been visiting the area and have not have such rude service or such a poorly made drink as I have had at this location. And I'll be looking forward to my drink at the airport when I fly home...
Read moreI love walking into a place that feels like going back to your old neighborhood. There was a whole crew, maybe 6 baristas working during this particular visit. I’m not even stretching the truth when I say that there was some sort of interaction with each one of them and it didn’t turn into a game of, “ which one doesn’t belong to this group!” Anyways, I always order the same thing and as usual, mine was perfect! My son however, he just wanted a fancy chocolate milk. His taste buds didn’t fancy the fancy chocolate milk tho. The sweet barista wasn’t offended and made it clear to my kid that she wanted him to get a drink that he was happy with. And she made it clear by remaking it 4 times. My son is such a sweet lil man and genuinely cares about how he makes people feel and he felt so bad for not liking the drink the first few times. I’m grateful to our barista for genuinely caring about how my son was feeling and doing the very best she could by talking to him and assuring him that she loves the challenge and she appreciated him. It’s not very difficult to find good coffee and good treats. It’s not so easy to find someplace with those things and a beautiful example of real life human kindness. Sometimes a trip out to get coffee turns into a bigger deal moment, a feel good moment, that deserves to be...
Read moreThis particular Starbucks is still fairly new. The employees are great and the service is relatively fast. The store is always clean and even the outside grounds are well maintained. I subtracted a star because on more than one occasion, my drink order has been messed up.
On a few occasions, the milk used to make the drink was not the milk I ordered. The sticker on the cup had the correct milk listed, but I know that the wrong milk was used. On a few occasions, the drink was served hot when I ordered it iced (I ALWAYS order my drinks iced). Anyways, just a few minor mistakes and I know they'll fix it if I bring it to their attention, but I don't always have the time to go back to get a drink remade.
I can only guess as to the cause of these errors, but from what I've observed, it appears they need more people on the floor. Often see the person making drinks trying to take orders because the person at the window is too busy running to grab food items, etc. Another person on the floor could help alleviate some of this and help ensure drink orders are taken and made properly. I was a Starbucks partner myself for 5 years and worked at several drive through stores myself, so I am pretty confident in my...
