Thirsty Bear Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lakewood

This ia a great place. I have visited This place several times, mainly because it is location. It is convenient spot for my friends and I to get together. The staff is friendly, although tonight my server seems a little mentally preoccupied. This a causle place with high vaulted ceilings and lots of Windows which alouds natural light in and adds it it's jazzy atomsph. It also offers a small outdoor patio, dinning area is a good place to enjoy a nice summers evening with friends. I might add this place has eight t.v.'s across dinning /bar area each one set to various sports channels. Music is a mix of pop country, to blues, and, classic rock, and the volume pleasantly set that one can enjoy a conversation with others. I might also add they do have clean restrooms.

There food menu is what I would call "Classic bar food" that is popular in Colorado. I always enjoyed and recommend  their full nachos,  they are what most Native Coloradans thinking of when ordering nachos. In that it was a large plate nachos served at your table nice and hot smoothed with generous portions of beans, beef, cheese, onions and jalapenos with a side of sour cream and salsa. But no guacamole? I am not sure why I was not offered any, hum?  Anyways, this is an order that is meant  to be shared with friends at an reasonable price. Other, things worth ordering for a group who is on the go would be their basket of breaded pop corn shrimp and chicken strips along with some fries. I give it three stars, because the food is really good. The service is horrid! I have been there several times. I bet you are wondering why I keep returning if the service is so bad? Well the Burgers and the Chile Cheese Tots are awesome. I have never bothered to leave a review in the past, because I didn't want to send a conflicting message. Today I was there for lunch at 1140 in the morning and asked to order a lunch item. I was told by the server, they do not serve lunch until Noon and would have to choose from the breakfast menu. I told the server I don't want breakfast and I would wait and order lunch at noon. I was thinking. Am I at McDonald's? So, I got a beer and at noon I ordered lunch. 30 minutes later I received my order. By the time I finished eating my lunch, I had been there for over an hour. I did make a complaint to the manager and she comped my entree, but why did i have to wait so long to order lunch and to receive it after finally being able to make the order? I don't understand how there can be bad reviews. Every time I have come here,not only do they serve me immediately. The bartenders ask me how my day is,and BEYOND that respond and tell me about their day and go into detail about mine. It means a lot and the girls are the Kindest bartenders I have ever met. It's very local feeling and hats a warm thing. I've come alone and with my mother and they have always treated us the same with the same courtesy and the same empathy. I have never left a review before cause it's weird. But I feel compelled to battle these bad comments and tell you to come here and give it a chance.
