If I could give this rink a negative star I absolutely would! My son played his JV game there last night. Per the rules of his league there is 1 parent allowed per player. When we go to his games we get our temperature checked and screened for covid and are required to ware a mask while spectating. This allows for social distancing. Upon arrival to the Old foothills ice arena 10 minutes after the game started.. both front doors are wide open. There where about 20 parent spectators on the benches (well distanced and waring masks). We watched the entire 1st period and then the owner and some lady both with there masks around there chins saying we had to leave due to covid. 1st off if you are so worried then why don't you have your mask on like we all do?? The parent that was in the penalty box had his mask around his chin as well? This is putting our children at risk!! The hole situation was so poorly handled by the "owner" This place should be shut down. If you didn't want us in there close the doors!! What a...
Read moreThis place should be condemned. It looks like it was an abandoned warehouse for a decade until they slapped some ice, shoddy boards from 1973 and leftover glass from 1965, and pretended it was a hockey rink. The building is cold...I get it, it’s an ice rink. But it’s cold like the owners haven’t paid the heating bills for 20 years. The blue lines are there...barely. The glass is as transparent as milk with chunks of Oreo cookie floating in it. The last game I coached there, the ice was worse than a pond, and a puck slid UNDER the boards where there was a gap. But the ice is easily the worst in the state. The 9280 pond hockey tournament had better ice...
Read moreFoothills is a place only a hockey player could love. It's old, grungy and worn down. The ice is mediocre and kind of wavy. It's been a Denver institute as such. I used to practice there, my son practices there on occasion as well. Great inexpensive ice for coaches. Gotta love this place. Don't think you're going to take a shower afterwards unless you have hazmat gear with you, unless something has changed in the 10 years since I practiced here. My 15 year old said they were gross. And COLD... man this place is cold. Doesn't matter though....
