My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here. The service was very fast and friendly. Too many yummy choices on their menu to choose from. I went with the special of the day, a Tiger Burrito with Chicken. Mild cheese sauce. Almost ate the whole thing. Very taste and mild. My wife went for the Single Chicken Fajita. She devoured it! It was a big plate and she ate every bite. I helped her finish the sides. A previous reviewer called the place a "White Mexican" restaurant. I can see the metaphor. The food is mildly spiced. Nothing to burn your mouth. My wife has been coming her for years and years with her Mother and Sister. This was my first time here and will come again. Take time out from your trip up I-49 (71 Highway) and stop by for a casual, tasty meal. Five Stars!

We stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, tasty food and speed of service. We had one of the many options for Buritos (Burrito Ranchero) and one of the chicken dishes with a cheese sauce and veggies (Pollo de Oro). Both tasted very good and appeared freshly prepared. There was a hint of extra salt, but it didnt put the dishes off at all. To start they do bring chips and salsa, the chips were crisp and tasty and the salsa tasted fresh and homemade. My one issue with the atmosphere is the booth seat I had seemed to have lost its cushioning, very hard. Other then that one thing, great job and we will be going back for sure!

Decided to come here since I haven’t been in a while and definitely will NOT be back. Food was caked in grease which made my tortilla soggy and the meat looked like processed mushy meat…and then asked if they had ranch and our waitress literally rudely goes “what?” And glared at us and then walked away…ending up asking someone else for it. After that she just kept giving us glares. Which is not okay.

I recently visited El Caballo De Oro in Lamar and had an amazing experience. I arrived at 2:00 PM on a Friday and was seated immediately, which was great. The waiter was very attentive and friendly, making me feel welcome and comfortable right away.

I ordered the chicken and rice with added fajita veggies, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the portion size was just right. I especially appreciated the fresh ingredients and the fact that everything was cooked to perfection.

Overall, I had a great time at El Caballo De Oro and would highly recommend it to others. The service was top-notch, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the food was phenomenal. If you're in the area and looking for a great place to eat, be sure to check out El Caballo De Oro. You won't be...

If I could give just one star I absolutely would! So my husband and I arrived at 8:45 p.m. The restaurant is open until 9:30 p.m. which is posted online. We were greeted by a very nice young lady who was going to seat us in a young man's section and he proceeded to tell us they were closed, and the open sign was clearly on when we walked through the door. I'm assuming that's because he didn't want to do any extra work and then wanted to close the restaurant early. Extremely unprofessional and I would recommend to anyone that thought this might be a great place to eat at to reconsider eating at a more professional Mexican restaurant who actually cares about...
