The food is good and they have options for people with allergies, which is nice (since I have a severe food allergy that normally prohibits me from having tasty pastries). First time I came in here was with a friend who is friendly with the owners. Since no prices were listed, I assumed their prices were very inexpensive since I got three items (a croissant, a cake, and another pastry) for $11. The next time I came in I was charged $7 for the croissant alone, so I know the first time there was special pricing because of my friend. It's a shame because I excitedly showed my mom this place, raving that it was tastier and less expensive than another bakery we love, and it's actually more expensive (but still tastier). I can't understand when businesses don't list the prices. I hope they've changed it since...and will also reconsider charging $7 for a croissant, if that is truly the price.
Edit: There is no confusion for me regarding my experience. However, I truly don't understand the response to me vs other people who left similar reviews. When I visited, no prices were listed. This is confirmed by another person's review and by the business themselves in response to them! I feel that my critiques were fair and the response to me is interesting to observe. No explanation is given as to why my first visit was so inexpensive except to counter that my assumption that I was with a friend of the owners was wrong. That's fine, and I'm happy that you're listing prices now, but...less happy with the response given to me vs other customers. I am someone who would have otherwise...
Read moreIf there's one thing I know, it's baked goods. If there's two things, it's baked GREATS. I live across the river but spend a lot of free time in Lambertville, and have two kids who are pastry lovers, so we were very excited to try this new establishment.
Bagels - wonderful. Excellent texture, great crust, what more could I want? Wifey got hers with lox and all the fixings, and it was marvelous. Mine with deviled egg salad was so terrible I don't think I breathed or set it down until it was done. The kids had cream cheese, which earned each two thumbs and two big toes up!
Pastry - even better. The croissants? I don't like to speak ill of others, so let's just say there's not a better croissant to find in either Lambertville or New Hope. It's not even close. I'm still thinking about when I can make it back for the French onion soup pastry.
Short version: excellent. So happy to have them in this great little town, where the food game just keeps getting elevated....
Read moreWe stopped at this sweet new bakery one Sunday morning a few weeks ago and had delicious breakfast sandwiches on bagels which were overflowing with avocado and crunchy sprouts. This place will surely become a favorite in Lambertville. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the wide array of baked goods for sale. As we sipped good coffee and ate scones we enjoyed listening to customers debating whether to buy their usual favorite or to branch out and try something new. Lots of good choices! I loved the little library and ...
