Sigh, deep exhale while smh, I rarely drop reviews but man this had to be done. I'm not one to disrespect the culture and bring down an owner of the business but someone has to light a fire under the owner or else this place will continue to collapse. Walk in- there is no one there at the register, your greeted by a short staffed sign please be patient with us. This happened another time too. Look around the TV is off, football fan blowing hot air, look up and you see no vents for air conditioning so im guessing that's why employees aren't present in the front. There's another sign with sloppy writing which says check your food, another sign that says no exchange or refunds. Almost every customer who walked in because they don't do phone orders meal were incorrect. The worker looked as if they just finished from a smoke break eyes low and talking slow. It took damn near an hour for food which was overly cooked fried chicken, smaller than a pinky legs, Mac n cheese tasted like it was made in a greyhound public restroom, the rice was hard felt like you were eating plastic while the cornbread was the size of a ping pong ball overly wrapped and broke apart on first pick up. The experience took long, too hot for customers, so I definitely feel for the employess but even then who's at fault? Food is absolutely not worth the price, if im paying that much for the food then allow me to pay over the phone so im not waiting or have to leave and come back and its still not finished. Owner has a few choices either go back to the drawing board and bring back the fire and excitement from when they first opened by renovating the place to provide air for employees and customers or find a new location, clean your image offer exchanges without employees being rude pointing to the no exchange refund sign, or switch up the menu. They just need cooks who care, better management or provide employees something to build morale. Extremely poor customer service. First time I visit the location, I waited a few long minutes to an empty front counter. When it was finally my turn to order, I made my selection and without a stutter the employee, or SIR, said: No, he cannot make that. I was stunned and ask why. With added hand gestures he proceeded to explain he cannot make the Waffle Taco because he is by himself and it will take him over an hour to make it. After he got done explaining why he can’t make it, he slaps his thighs in irritation and said: FINE! You want it, it’ll take me over an hour to make it. This is no way to approach a situation. I would have been willing to wait an hour for my food. A food I have not yet tried and now never care to because the SIR at the front counter and his hand gestures and irritating attitude because he is working alone has made me very upset at this and will share that if you want food from here, come aware that you may get attitude, you’re order denied or rejected, and then made felt bad for wanting an order that’ll take over an hour. SIR with the stressed job, please find peace in treating others how you would like to be treated. Thank you!

This place is horrible. The food was nasty. Let me explain I ordered a Cajun chicken link and was waiting 10mins until I was called and notified they didn’t have any buns for the chicken link. Okay so I had to order something. I was looking over the menu to order ribs only to be told they have no ribs as a matter of fact there was a lot of stuff named off on the menu that they were out of. The lady was very sweet and kind. The cook was rude. I ended up ordering hot wings even though I didn’t want to. I asked them not to give me the wings that looked like steroids. When I informed the cook there were two in my plate that were big. He was rude about it. I laughed it off and left. My boyfriend also ordered a fish plate. He asked them to fry the fish hard. It wasn’t fried hard. It was soggy. We wanted so bad to like this place. The food was over priced and nasty. I literally wouldn’t have minded the price if the food was good. The hot wings had a sticky gewy texture to it. I had to re-fry the hot wings. The fries were nasty and had no seasoning on it. I was so upset. They do not refund food or money so don’t bother. This is not a real soul food place. The food is nasty. The people that are writing good reviews obviously do not know what authentic soul food taste like.
