To start, I was immediately greeted as I came through the door. It wasn't as if they didn't have anything to do for there were other patrons dinning away. The servers were clean and neat. They behaved in a polite and professional manner. My server wasn't over bearing at all like the servers in most restaurants tend to be in their attempts to secure nice tips. The dinning and buffet areas were exceptionallying clean. I've been to plenty of restaurants where there was dried sauce spills, food hanging over into other foods, mess in cracks and crevices in booths and around tables, unrecognizable specks, spills and smears on sneeze shield and last but not least.... dried or wet bubble gum or boogers underneath the table (gross). None of it was present for the servers or attendants were quick to deal with those issues. Now we come to the food. I can be pretty anal about this subject. The hot items were hot and the cold we're cold. The fried items were crunchy, the meats were nice and tender. I'm very sure we all had that beef n broccoli dish where you chewed that piece of beef like a piece of gum. I hate that. But here at Wa Chang, there was none of that. I enjoyed my meal there and I plan to definitely return again and again. If you think it's pricey think again. The excellence of this place can be yours for a reasonable and affordable amount. I give Wa Chang 4 stars. Could have been 5 if they had a couple of my faves at the buffet. I absolutely recommend dinning there. Ok, now...
Read moreLet me first say that this is the only Chinese Buffet in Lancaster. So they have a notch in the market and area and that's why they have a four star review on Google. Food- it's your typical Chinese buffet, nothing fancy. The fried rice is over done and some pieces were hard. The egg rolls that they title (chicken egg rolls) are gross and not crispy. I will give them credit for the beef and broccoli and pepper steak, the meat was tender and cooked well and not to chewy or tough. They had more salad bar contiments then they had choices for desert. Stay away from the fortune cookies, there old and stale.
Service- your typical waitress that comes to refill the drink but doesn't offer much else. Not even small talk 😂 oh I forgot they can barely speak English. Yes I said that, I am Korean and I speak three different languages including English.
Price: Lunch and dinner price is fare, but if you make your own plate for take out, be careful cause it's 7.99 a LBS and you'll have a bill of twenty bucks just for yourself. So eat in is my advice.
The decor of the restaurant, well there isn't any. Oh and the initial smell when you first walk in...
Read moreCalled to place an order which I've placed the very same order for over 10 years and I've never had to pay for hot oil. We are a large family and my orders are usually pretty big and close to $60+ each time so money has never been an issue for me,however if I feel like I'm being taken advantage of I will speak up. Anyways I called and the guy was telling me that it would be $2.50 for a cup of oil, if anyone knows the cups for the dressing or sauces sits at the end of the bar so for him to argue with me that it was $2.50 after I told him over and over that I have never been charged and that the lady let's me get it all the time. He wanted to argue with me that it wasn't free. So I just canceled my entire order. But now It makes me wonder do they add on charges for the soy sauce and duck sauce they throw in your bag also? I mean because that's about the same amount you could fit in one of the To-go cups I was requesting. This restaurants manors and customer service has really...
