I was very excited when I first walked into this place. It was cute and beautifully decorated. However, I was quickly turned off by the way the staff treated us. It was very obvious that they prioritized their Spanish speaking customers. They were also much friendlier to them. They had such a nice smile with their spa ish speaking customer before me and as soon as it was my turn, the smile disappeared and the attitude changed. While I understand that they are a new business and have room to grow, I'm having a hard time understanding how this business will flourish when the staff have the " I hate this job" look and attitude, and the owners always look as if they're overworked. I came by for lunch one day and literally waited 30 minutes in line, a few people ended up walking out. Another customer asked if they could order ahead next time to save time and the owner responded by saying " I'm too busy to answer phones, that's not possible". Yet, the moment you walk into the door it says , order online on our website. This restaurant has much more potential to grow if they had the right attitude. For now I'll stick with other Hispanic cafes in tampa where people value my business and won't give me an attitude because I can't speak Spanish. ** Edit ** I changed my review to a 1 after traveling to other places and trying other place's pastries, I realized that kinkas not only overcharge for their pastries , they also do not taste that great. Combine that with the horrible customer service, I don't think this place should be recommended to anyone.

So today we decided to give Kinkas Bakery Cafe a try. From the outside one would say hmmm, just another storefront eatery…. But when you walk in different aesthetics. Modern decor, very clean and tidy. The line presentation and menu boards were easy to read and the food descriptions were spot on. We were in for breakfast and always in search of a good, authentic “cafe con leche”…. Well so far we’ve found it here locally in our own backyard. Yes, you could say we’re coffee snobs or better yet Cafe Con Leche connoisseurs. Being of Hispanic decent I know my coffee, I know my cafe con leche. With that said every Spanish culture has a different perspective on cafe con lech such as pre mixed, light, medium, dark, with sugar, without, etc. I prefer when I can mix it myself but here at Kinkas I was able to request mine to be a little darker than normal. Our expectations were met in every aspect with the food we ordered and the coffees. We will definitely be trying them for lunch in the near future not to mention their amazing bakery options. Great addition to the area!

Was very excited about visiting the newest bakery in town. As soon as I got there with my son and daughter-in-law, I was greeted by the owner, I suppose, and was told there was a 45 minute wait, and was holding the door. I said I will come in and look, right after that, he proceeded to lock the door about 10 different times while customers waited outside because I guess he was overwhelmed by the amount of customers. The time he spent locking the door 10 times could’ve been spent cooking. So I decided to go today, give it a second chance maybe yesterday was a bad day, today I waited in line for 35 minutes, to be told that it would be an additional 45 minute wait. The owner proceeded to come out again, which I was expecting him to yell at us by the look on his face. At this point, I decided to not buy anything and just went the bagel place around the corner which I am very much greeted with big smiles and got my food and 15 minutes or so. Maybe improve on smiling and being nice, instead of running off customers. Advice…be nice!

My husband and I have been loyal customers since a week after this place opened. They’ve gotten a TON of business (I honestly think they should franchise!) and we’ve always loved coming in and seeing their smiling faces, especially from the older lady who always makes sure to greet us with the most enthusiastic greeting!! Unfortunately, the downside of small businesses is when they start accumulating more business, something has to fall short- whether it be the service, the quality of food, or the environment. Recently some of our orders have been not up to the standard we were so used to. But we never bring it up and give grace because we can understand as business owners ourselves how hard it can be to juggle so many hats as a local business, they are 100% a town favorite! I can agree that the cashier has an attitude and sometimes is very nice but other times appears burnt out or as if she can’t wait to leave. Asking questions seems to be such a burden or irritation. The owner has always been top notch, but recently gave us attitude and kept talking over me when I was expressing concern over such a small misunderstanding between me and one of the servers who seemed to not understand me. I even advised my husband to address the matter away from customers to not upset the workers and come off as though we were trying to embarrass them for something so small. I NEVER complain because these people have been nothing but nice to us, which is why i felt so comfortable addressing the issue as well but to no avail. I don’t expect anything but common courtesy. The cashier definitely made some passive aggressive remarks to my husband as well and my food was exactly how I thought it would be because they refused to just give me a fresh servicing of pernil. The order I had was extremely dry and the skin was sticky, cold and chewy. I felt patronized and as if I was talking like a Karen when i was extremely apologetic for even bringing up the issue and causing confusion at all but the cashier rolled her eyes at my husband and they didn’t even say bye to us lol they just continued talking in spanish as if i couldn’t understand them. Unfortunately I will continue eating here because they have some of the best latin food in tampa IMO, but I will not be getting my usual order due to lack of consistency. I hope they will continue to grow as a business and accept constructive criticism from their loyal customers as an opportunity to improve and not be so defensive in the future because we have turned so many people onto this establishment and have so many memories of me fueling my pregnancy cravings here and they were the first place we stopped at on the way home from the hospital when i delivered my baby girl. In the future, I will just be cordial and continue to support them because overall we’ve had great experiences which is why i gave the 5 stars. I wish them nothing but success and blessings...

What a beautiful, charming place. The aesthetics, simplicity, and cleanliness is just mesmerizing. The food was ok, I ordered toast and some pastries and my husband ordered a ham and cheese sandwich on "pan sobao". He asked to add an egg but we were told it was not possible.

We paid $32 for the following: Butter toast Ham and cheese sandwich on pan sobao 2 quesitos w guava 1 Nutella filled croissant 1 pastelillo de pionono 2 sodas

We waited about 15-20 minutes in line just to order the food. Then we waited another 20-25 minutes to get our food. They served me cheese toast, instead of butter toast and they were cold. My husband's sandwich was good, nothing out of the ordinary. The pastries are VERY good. Pricey but good. If I enjoy the food, I don't mind the price point.

The person taking orders lacks customer service skills. Her facial expressions are not friendly and she doesn't even greet customers. We sat by the cash register and constantly listened to her telling customers NO. Im big on finding solutions for customers - not a good look for the business at all.

The ordering system isn't ideal. The person on the cash register takes your order and then tells another person to get your pastries or drinks. The problem is that the person on the register instead of giving the full order to the other person, breaks down the order and the other person has to make multiple trips to complete one order. This is very frustrating for the customer and holds the line. Therefore the long wait times.

I'm all about customer service. The place can be a hole in the wall but if you treat me well you will have my support forever.

I think they have potential but need to improve their ordering system and...

Is the food wonderful here? Yes, absolutely. They have the best croissants that I have ever had, yet unfortunately I will not be coming back. When this location first opened I've witnessed the woman at the front counter treat customers very poorly and speak even to me in a condescending way. I brushed it off numerous times thinking, "She's just grumpy like my abuela. It could be worse." Embarrassingly enough, before recommending this place to family I even had to warn them about her attitude since other reviews stated the same about poor customer service. While there are a lot of 5 star reviews, I attribute that mostly to the amazing food, which makes people overlook the rude service. My most recent visit was the breaking point as I went in to order breakfast/pastries for my family and was once again treated poorly by this woman. This time though my order was entered with numerous errors. No accountability was taken whatsoever and she even tried to blame me for HER not ringing in multiple items. When requesting an itemized receipt the owner himself printed it and rudely shoved it toward my partner without even looking at us or asking if there was anything that needed to be resolved. This is the same owner that I've been very patient with in the past while he juggled phone calls, stocking items, and ringing up orders. If I can't be treated with the same level of courtesy/kindness that I give to the owner/employees then there is simply no reason to come back here. I leave this review in hopes that steps are taken to improve the customer service experience with other patrons. Based on my experiences though, I cannot in good faith recommend this...
