Finger Lickin' Chicken & Fish — Restaurant in Lansing Charter Township

“Once you find it, you’ll never forget it!”. Is what the owner told me when I followed google maps blindly to the old building next door, and he was very correct. I am a Door Dasher based in a different city and just happened to be in Lansing. Apparently the Dasher app often drops people at the wrong location so the owner was outside waiting to guide my lost-self inside. As I was waiting for the order, the owner asked if I was from around town. After stating that I wasn’t, he proceeded to give me a to-go box of quite literally the BEST CHICKEN I have ever tasted in my life. I grew up in a “almond mom” sort of household so I had never tasted bone-in chicken until I was in college, and that was dining hall food, so this was almost a healing experience to my pallet. The absolute kindest, most chill and friendly group of staff works here, really wasn’t expecting to be smiling ear to ear after picking up someone’s else’s catfish, but it quite literally made my day. Catfish wedges chicken tenders. Slappin like ric flair. That seasoning is on point. The Cole slaw Mac and potato salads I got the feeling were gfs or sysco basic. Good but nothing I'd rave about. I prefer my salads a little less wet. Highly recommend trying this place. 4 stars cuz I asked for sauce and didn't get it and the seasoning could've been just a touch less salty. Sadly, my first experience with FLC, was at their food truck at the downtown fireworks. Not sure if they were overwhelmed by being the only hot food selection or running out of food early, but it was a 45 minute wait to order with only 10 people ahead of me, then waited an additional 45 minutes for the food. Potato salad was warm, all other food was fresh and hot. Collard greens were very good and tasty. But that wait just was atrocious. Other customers said they had waited a total up to 2 hours. ...
