Our family has a love of Indian cuisine and the new Bombay Mahal restaurant in Lansing was a must try for us when traveling into the town for a birthday celebration! It was a wonderful first visit. A widely varied menu provided everyone a choice to their liking, from spicy meat selections to vegetarian choices, they provide an array of opportunities for every palate. The staff is very welcoming, quick and eager to assist in every way. The food was served exactly to our specifications, piping hot and in large portion sizes, with plenty of leftovers to take home. We ordered a plethora of varied meals from chicken and lamb to vegetarian in a vast range of spice levels from very mild to very hot and it all was spot on, exactly to order and fabulous! Sauces on primary dishes were richly flavored and everything was freshly prepared, vegetable samosas and naan were superb, water was ice cold and kept filled to the rim. Both our server and the owner or chef were very attentive and gracious, without being the least bit intrusive - making for a top shelf experience. Thank you for an excellent dinner Bombay Mahal! Our only regret was not taking photos of our feast - we were so eager to eat it that we just dove right in! Yummy!!!...

Wow! Great job all around! I didn't know about this spot until it caught my eye driving past the other day and I saw something new had opened. I was excited to see real Indian food on the west side. Now that I know it's high quality for a good price, I will also have to stop in to eat in the dining room, which they clearly keep very clean (looked like they just scrubbed the floors when I stopped in). The staff is also friendly and helpful as well, and my pick up order was ready a few minutes earlier than expected.

I ordered the Lamb Korma, Roti, Butter Naan, and the cottage cheese based dessert, with a Mango Lassi to drink. The portions of all items were large (and the dessert was twice the size of some spots in East Lansing), lamb was flavorful and tender, and actually the rice was notably great too. (I almost never finish my rice when meals come with it, but I'm polishing it off as I write this!)

Thanks to the kitchen and front staff for the wonderful meal, and I look forward to trying the rest...

We had dinner at the new Bombay Mahala on the west side of Lansing tonight, and overall, it was a great experience! The wait was a bit long, but that’s understandable for a brand-new restaurant finding its rhythm.

The chicken tikka masala was cooked to perfection, and the samosas were honestly some of the best we've had—crispy, flavorful, and piping hot. A couple of our usual go-to dishes didn’t hit quite the same way as at other places, but we’re hopeful those recipes will evolve over time.

It’s great to have an Indian restaurant on this side of town—definitely saves us a trip across Lansing. Next time, we’ll try medium spice since the mild didn’t have much heat. Looking forward to seeing...

I've been so excited to finally have a full service Indian restaurant in Lansing proper + Bombay Mahal did not disappoint! The service was swift + the servers were kind. We ordered: 🍽 Chicken Samosas — Flaky, flavorful + buttery dough (which, to me, was more reminiscent of empanadas than is typical with samosas) filled with well-seasoned minced chicken. The accompanying Tamarind + Mint Chutneys were on point. 🍽 Goat Saag — Tender meat, creamy spinach sauce. 🍽 Garlic Naan — Perfectly baked. I am looking forward to returning to try more dishes!

Ambience: it was ok ok. They can do some work in adding some light to it and definitely help in getting more footfalls. Food: We ordered gobi Manchurian, chicken pakoda, chicken curry, mutton karahi, naan and roti. Appetizers was good. The best was mutton karahi. We ended up ordering one more. Our waiter was very polite and patiently took our orders. He was really good and explained everything if we asked for in detail. Overall : recommended if you are near by and looking for Indian food

Tried Bombay Mahal for the first time and it did not disappoint. We had the samosas, lamb tikka masala, and garlic naan—and everything was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The lamb was tender, the tikka masala had just the right amount of spice, and the naan was soft with that perfect garlic kick. It’s a new spot in town, and I’m really glad we gave it a try. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and authentic Indian flavors. Definitely coming back!
