Here is a little gem for you. I stumbled in here on a whim and boy was I pleased. I have been driving by this corner for 50 years and never stopped in. Lansing has a lot of GREAT little unknown Mom and Pop restaurants. The trouble is that you didn't know who and where they are unless somebody clues you or you luck out like I did. So we all just end up ant McDonalds or Taco Bell because we don't know where to get the really good stuff.
I came in and explained that I had never been in and what would they suggest. They suggested the #1, ..Thia Pad. ..I said OK. It was made up fresh on the spot from fresh ingredients. As I ate it I felt it was made with love and passion from someone who really takes pleasure in cooking good food for people. It was a wonderful blend of flavors, spices, and vegetables that turned a simple lunch into a magical eating experience.
The pleasure of my lunch stayed with me for 3 or 4 days as I kept thinking and remembering how much I enjoyed it. (now how often does that happen to you? Practically never!) Have you ever eaten somewhere and it was so good that you want to tell all of your friends and family about it and want to invite them to eat with you there so they can enjoy it to? That is what happened to me,...I am going to take my Mom, brother, and girlfriend there and introduce them to this little gem. I think they will...
Read moreThe food was overpriced and very poor quality! The server was polite once she realized I was there. There are 2 different doors and customers aren't allowed in either. It was a little confusing for me the first (and only) time. Here's a tip, go to the one with all the weird barricades and make lots of noise so someone will notice you. Also, order rice NOT noodles. (I have a suspicion the noodles were cooked in a rice cooker.) I ordered tofu pad thai. There were no discernable vegetables in the dish. It tasted mostly of oil. The noodles were so overcooked they were crumbles. It also was not served with lime and almost no peanuts. I went home and seasoned it before eating. Then I still fed most of it to my teenaged son. He's a 🐐 goat. I usually love Pad Thai so this was very...
Read moreWhen a Thai restaurant messes up Pad Thai, something is very wrong.
I ordered Pad Thai (my favorite Thai dish) it came with just noodles, a few small pieces of chicken, a few bean sprouts, a small piece of green onion, trace amounts of egg .... and NO SAUCE. Nothing like what Pad Thai is suppose to be. I have made Pad Thai many times, I have ordered it from several different places and I have had Pad Thai IN the actual country of Thailand. This was a sad, lazy attempt at Pad Thai, I had to finish making my order, the only plus was the the chicken was tasty. I will not be ordering...
