Came to Laramie to help my daughter start her journey at WyoTech, and who would’ve thought I’d find a taste of home right here in the middle of Wyoming? From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine aloha – big smiles, local-style hospitality, and the sounds of home playing through the speakers. Luis was awesome! Super friendly, full of aloha, and made us feel like we were walking into our cousin’s house for dinner.
And the music? Brah! Hearing Maʻoli, Koauka, and other local artists playing in the background instantly took us back. It wasn’t just a meal – it was an experience. You could almost feel the trade winds if you closed your eyes.
Now the food? Next level. The kalbi, tender BBQ chicken, BBQ Beef, crispy katsu and crispy shrimp were all cooked to perfection – juicy, flavorful, and served with serious island love. And the mac salad? Not even one haole version – this was the real deal. Creamy, peppery, chilled just right – like the kind you get at the lunch wagon after the beach.
Every plate came with rice, mac salad, and flavor that made us feel like we were cruising at Ma’ili beach with ʻohana.
If you’re from Hawaiʻi or just craving that authentic local-style grinds, Hawaiian BBQ House in Laramie is the spot. Whether you’re just visiting or making a new start, this place brings the islands to you. Mahalo to the crew – especially Luis – for the hospitality, the ʻono food, and the island vibes. We’ll definitely be back again!
Note: So sorry the shrimp and fresh pineapple was gone before I could...

Some reviews say it’s overpriced, but I’d disagree (with exception to the bottled/canned drinks, they can be pricey). They give generous helpings of delicious protein, rice, vegetables, and macaroni salad in the Hawaiian plates. The portions might be a little inconsistent, as I got a smaller amount of the kimchi fried rice the second time around, but it was filling despite that.
The wait time is average, but considering there’s usually two or three people working at a time, it’s understandable. Hopefully they get some more staff! There’s a few tables to sit at if you want to dine in, but I love this place as a takeout option.
Overall, it’s a great place to get some unique and tasty food in this town of predominantly American and...
Read moreCame here today for the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl!! It took about 15 minutes. They have lots of Teriyaki menu Items, sandwich, Bowls, Beef, and Chicken and lots of other tasty food I’ve never heard of before. This place is better for take out, than dine in, because they only have 3 tables, and a very small dining area. The teriyaki chicken bowl was $13 and i think it was the cheapest or one of the cheapest entree’s on the menu. It comes with a bunch of chicken, a bunch of rice and a variety of vegetables. It was well worth the $13, it was too much food for me to eat even, so great for sharing or saving for later. They have a-lot of menu Items $20+ that were too expensive for me, but from what i saw at the tables around me it seemed worth the money. They have several fridges full of canned Hawaiian drinks i wish i...
