Danny's — Restaurant in Laredo

We have been going to this establishment for years now. Every time we visit we go in party of six or more. We ALWAYS CONSUME MORE THAN $100 each time. When we went into the facility today we we four walking in and we were told to sit where we would like. There were only four tables serving customers at that time, meaning ALL the other tables were available. We walked straight to the middle of the restaurant and sat on a table of six chairs because we were waiting for two other coworkers. We were immediately asked to get up by the waiter and told we had to sit on a table with four chairs not six. So we got up and went to a corner booth and once again we were told we could not sit there either. By this time we were embarrassed and decided to walk out of the establishment. I called the establishment and asked to speak to manager to complain of the way they made us feel, I was able to speak to Mr Alberto Lopez the owners brother who was very rude talking over me, letting me know we were only four at our party and that they had an event scheduled at noon which was an hour before their event started. We were in our early lunch hour. We would of been out of there by the time their event started. I asked him how he could treat his customers that way and he kept talking over me. Danny's has always been the go-to restaurant for my family during special occasions. It is not a fancy restaurant but it isn't your usual diner. Danny's is a great restaurant where the whole family can eat.

Danny's offers a plethora of food choices from American and Mexican cuisine. There should be something for everyone to enjoy. Danny's even offers a kid's menu and kids can get a coloring book for free. Nothing big but enough to entertain them.

The decor is amazing with stalls in the corner and tables in the center. It has a very home-like feel. It's such a nice environment.

The service is also something that should be praised. Wait staff is quick, efficient and friendly. The wait for your food doesn't seem so eternal when appetizers are offered and drinks come out almost immediately.

Personally, I enjoy the chicken breast from here the most and replace my order of mashed potatoes to French fries in my dinner. The combination is surprisingly good.

I went today on April 24 2025 We order the specials in the menu enchiladas poblanas , tampiquena fideo soup , the en hiladas were bad not good at all they were stale tortilla was hard like they Probably done them during the day and just left them there in the oven we called the manager and he said that no he couldn’t change them because to him supposedly as soon as they come out, we have to eat them. If not, the air conditioner will make them hard. The service was terrible. He said no he could not give us other ones so we just left. I couldn’t believe he did that. We paid the tab. What it was. It was $40 and we left we didn’t eat the rest of the food. They should know that they’re food is bad we had gone there before and this never happened. That’s why we got mad and left.
