Possibly the friendliest service in Laredo. The owner has a genuine passion for his business and even named it after his daughter, Olivia. The brisket has true smoked flavor, and was extremely moist. The potato salad was fresh and not overpowering and was complimented by quality dill slices. The barbecue sauce was perfectly mild but not too "ketchupy". The sliders were slightly overdone, but delicious and covered in a healthy dose of cheese. The fries were very thick....reminiscent of potato wedges and required ketchup or ranch dip to moisten them up. The Menudo was spot on with a thick broth and a good mix of flavors without being overpowered by hominy. The atmosphere needs a little work but was decently pleasant. Tables and chairs were sturdy and not l wobbly which is important in my book. If you follow my reviews 4 stars is pretty lofty as 5 stars is reserved for ultimate superiority. A visit to Livi's is definitely recommended, you will not be disappointed. Besides, you will not get better service and you will be supporting a...
Read moreDefinitely one of the best barbacoa places in the city. We got the Livi's Breakfast special which comes with Barbacoa, three eggs, a portion of beans mixed with chorizo, tortillas and salsa, the combination of all these ingredients was outstandingly good. On the other hand we got the Chilaquiles taco, which was pretty good as well and the Brisket sandwich we liked very much too. The atmosphere feels really cool, the service is amazing and they gave us a small Mimosa for free. Another thing worth mentioning is that you can bring your own beer, since they don't sell alcohol. The location itself is very convenient as well since it's in the heart of the city, close to many bars which is good if you stop by on a weekend night, we visited for brunch but since downtown is not so busy at that time, we found an available parking lot...
Read moreFirst time we went about a month ago everything was really good brisket was delicious. This second time me and my family ordered the brisket sandwiches and potato with brisket and everything was different they gave us something that looked like carne desebrada I even asked the lady that brought our plate if that was the brisket and she said yes we’ve always made it like that. I paid closed to 90 dollars for 3 sandwiches sodas and a potato . Sandwiches are very very small and they game like a pound of sausage on my brisket sandwich plate . I know how brisket looks and tastes and even though the carne they gave us wasn’t that bad it was not brisket it was carne desebrada . I wish I had a picture. Don’t mean to burn or talk bad an about the business as the front guys are super nice . I just wish it was the same as the...
