If you're in Laredo and you're wanting Chinese food. I highly recommend going to Lin's Grand Buffet a few miles down the road from here. Some restaurants get away with a less than perfect atmosphere, because the food's good! Then sometimes you have restaurants that try to get people to overlook bad food with a great atmosphere. This place is impressive and gets your attention as soon as you walk in the door. It's also very clean, and the staff is very friendly! Unfortunately those are the only positive things I can say about it! Not trying to be rude or anything, the food just isn't very good. Just about everything tasted Bland and under seasoned.. Their sushi bar is like 30 ft long, the biggest I've ever seen! But even there I feel like maybe they should cut down on the quantity, and focus on the quality more! I even had an issue with the soy sauce, like how does that happen?? Anyway, I'm not going to go into every detail about every thing I tried. But when I can say that the best thing about this place was the cold shrimp that's on the dessert bar like every other Chinese restaurant has. You know it was and an under par experience.. I give this place 5/10 at best. There's always the chance that I caught it on a bad day, of course some of these places have a tendency to be hit or missed sometimes. But based on this time alone, I wouldn't be very enthusiastic about...
Read moreIm a huge fan of sushi, all types and kind and this was a major disappointment. We got there when they opened expecting it to be fresh and we were wrong. Very limited types of rolls available, with only two types of Nigri and they were already at room temp. The signs describing each one were either hung in the wrong spot or listed a roll that wasn't even prepared. The majority of their rolls were common "American" sushi like the California roll. Their fruit salad tasted like it was made with rotten fruit. They had a decent fresh fruit buffet and an array of other hot buffet items, however being a "Sushi Bar" i expected better. The chefs were very short responsive and rude when asked questions. The wait staff didn't even know what kind of fish was prepared. Extremely over priced for the quality of sushi they served as it was $63 for 3 adults and two small children. The only greeting we got was when we entered and it was minimal to say the least. Our server didnt introduce herself, just simply asked what we wanted to drink and barely seem to know the drink menu. Would not return nor would i recommend this place to anyone that...
Read moreBest sushi buffet in Laredo. They have plenty of options unlike other buffets where the sushi options are very limited and not so tasty. You can even get some sashimi here. Here you can find also some chinese dishes and even a section where food is freshly prepared. Dumplings are extremely good, so make sure you give it a try. They count with some vegetarian/vegan options. Also if you start to feel a little full, feel free to ask for a coffee which will help with digestion so you can continue enjoying all of the delicious options they have. The desserts are very good, they have some cookies, icecream and a cinammon bread I'd die for. If you are not into chinese/japanese food, they also have some pizza, fries and a salad bar. No masks are required, and they have some plastic gloves for you to take each time you want to serve yourself, but they're not mandatory to be used any more. Service is great, the food tastes fresh and prices are accesible. It's around 20 dollar per person with beverage included (which has refill and includes...
