King of the Roll — Restaurant in Larkspur

I have been going to King of the Roll Sushi for many years. Owner & Chef, John Wayne , selects all of the fish personally… his rolls, sashimi & nigiri are by far the best tasting in the county because of his relationship with the fisherman that supply him. He is fun and gracious…if he suggests something to try just do it! All of the dishes on the menu are worth a taste. Good sake & beer selection. Everything is abundant and prices are reasonable…if you love good sushi, a fun, unique atmosphere… you just better go there or try the takeout…the escolar special roll is...

I’ve been coming here for years and years - back when they were open for lunch, it was 2 or 3 times a week. They are great for early dinner (open at 4!) well - it’s great, early or not :) Very fresh fish, nice people and fair prices. Atmosphere is regular, not fancy ... but you’ll come back for the food. Excellent. We were in the area, and arbitrarily chose KOTR, and had a wonderful dinner. I had 3 hand rolls and their famous John wayne oysters... All which were absolutely perfect, hubs had salmon nigiri and tuna rolls .. Fresh ans perfect, the kids had the salmon plate and ate it... A miracle really since they are 6 and barely eat restaurant food. Great place, delicious food and such attentive and genuinely friiendly service....and very kid...
