WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
I have long been a fan of Carl's and their food. I still love their food, but this location just gave me one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a business.
In a nutshell, I downloaded the app, ordered, paid for it ( about $50 worth ), and received a confirmation. I went to the restaurant's drive thru, gave my name, and was told that my name/order wasn't in the system so there was nothing they could do for me and they wouldn't start making anything.
I told them I wasn't understanding because I placed my order at 8:50 for pickup at 9:15, plenty of time, and I had my phone with me with the confirmation screen and number and proof that my card had been charged.
After being told several times that my order wasn't in their system and they would not make my food for me and my family, I asked if I could please pull up to the window and show my phone so they could see for themselves.
At that point, instead of offering to do that or try to assist in any way possible, some guy gets on the speaker and says he's the night manager ( never gave his name ) and basically told me to call their corporate, try to get a refund, and to leave because "going around and around with me isn't fixing the problem, is it?"
Unfortunately for this manager, what he doesn't know is, I too work in the customer service industry, and I know how customers should be treated and assisted, even in scenarios where there truly is nothing you can do for them due to whatever the reasons might be.
The way I was treated tonight was absolutely appalling and they never made any attempt to assist me or even at least look at my phone to see if maybe there was just a simple misunderstanding with the name or something. Nothing. No assistance at all, which is why I'm taking the time to write this review.
I rarely give anyone a 1 star, but this specific location of Carl's truly earned it tonight. I'd be very wary about trying to eat at this place, especially if you're planning on using the app.
Oh, and by the way, the cherry on top? When I got home and showed the order to my wife as I was telling her about what happened and why I didn't have dinner that she and our daughter were waiting for, it had been updated and said cancelled, which I didn't do. Read moreFirst thing you'll notice when going inside is how cold the dining area is, and I mean refrigerator cold. This location caters to a lot of Uber eats and other delivery services! Anyway. We ordered our food and waited over ten (10) minutes just to get two (2) California classics and All Star Meal !! I'm the type that's going to check my food before I even take a bite, but my has to test it out and be quickly disgusted or continue eating. Can you guess which one she was?, That's right folks she was disgusted!! Most places you go don't put enough Mayo or another condiment on your burger and this was no different so she went up and got some little packets from the manager and when she opened them, every single one of them were spoiled and looked like Vaseline!! I grabbed them and showed the packets to the manager and they just threw them away but never bothered to remove the other Mayo packets from the bin!! With one of my Burgers I discovered that it old, as if it had come from either a cancelled Uber eats order or someone else that wasn't happy and walked out, but this Burger was hours old!! The bun was rock solid, meat was dried out and shrunk and the cheese had already hardened. Now if this was a fresh Burger 🍔 it would have had some kind freshness to it, right??!!!
