For anyone that actually would like a accurate review on the food I am here for you. I like to consider myself a bit of a foodie and love finding gems amongst all the average food that is out there.i take pride on being the person both friends and coworkers turn to when they want to find a new spot they and their family will enjoy. I also like to think I hold food to a high standard and pho even higher. When going to this place I was very optimistic to find a pho spot close to home. Unfortunately I can't say I did, I ordered the pork spring rolls and the rare beef, brisket and beef ball pho while my wife ordered the noodle pho with tofu spring rolls. The tofu spring rolls had a decent amount of tofu however it was cut into a square and placed in the middle of the wrap leaving about a ¾ of an inch on each end that was just lettuce. To go along with that she got the peanut sauce which was the oddest peanut sauce I've tasted and not in a good way. The fried onion gave it such a perfume that it took over all your senses. With my pork spring rolls the pork was decent however, the wrapper was hard like plastic which either means it sat out to long or they did not rehydrate them properly. When the pho came out the same is what you expect but I was only given 4 LITERALLY 4 pieces of rare stake which I can't say really was because it was thoroughly cooked by time I received it and the beef ball was spongy which if you know what beef ball tastes like and texture is like you know that's not a good thing. To add insult to injury I didn't even get the brisket that was supposed to come with it. The broth was clouded and anise and cinnamon must had fallen into the broth with cooking because it tasted the used water and those ingredients nothing else. If anything I was refer to it as a anise and cinnamon steeped tea with noodles in it. When I say the broth was clouded you could see you ring of soot around the bowl that settled and the noodles were also poor quality. They clearly were not the correct noodles for this dish they had a texture of a over cooked pasta noodle which is sad. They only reason I didn't give this new spot a 1 star is because I have not tasted their dry or rice dishes. Also because I've had had one other places pho that was worse and that was pho rose. The worst part is I couldn't even bring myself to finish the pho at district 7 however I did pay to where as pho rose I did not that is what separates the two. I hope any other foodies out there can recognize I know what I'm talking about I know there will be individuals that don't mind eating for substance and will love this place. Thank you...
Read moreSo, I give this place 1 star because of the service. The service was not poor, and the food was okay. But. The person who handles the food... No. The person who puts the food into a bag, along with the serving ware, napkins, soy sauce packets and the fortune cookies, that service was frightening. As I sat at a table waiting for my order to be prepared, so was the guy who puts the food into the bag, the "food handling" guy. He waited, too. I can see everything they do to the food. That's a good thing ;-)
The food handler was standing near a counter-shelf where the food in the to-go container is passed along to him. He was on his phone while he waited. I didn't trip on that. I didn't care. However, he put his phone away, took a napkin, pulled down his mask and WIPED HIS MOUTH. I don't know if he spat in the napkin, don't know. He threw the napkin away, BUT HE NEVER WASHED HIS HANDS, OR USED HAND SANITIZER 0.0
He just covered his face with the mask, and continued to put the food into the plastic bag. I watched him like a hawk, saying to myself, "I hope that's not my order!!!! I hope that's not mine". After he puts the order together, he gestured for me to get it. And, I was like "Ewwwww! Nooo!" I thought, trying rationalizing everything- he was friendly, the cashier was friendly; they prepared the food. I didn't want to ask for a refund. I accepted my order, went home, threw everything away he touched and transferred the food to personal containers. My brother and others said I should've gotten a refund. But, they were hospitable and the food was prepared. I just won't be going back there, and that was my first time trying the...
Read moreOnline food order confirmed at 6:54p on a Wednesday (non-holiday). Received email stating we can expect delivery around 7:45p. At 8:05, I call the restaurant concerning my delivery. Gentleman on the phone says the driver cannot find the gate to our neighborhood. (We've lived here for 3 years and have never had an issue with anyone finding our home.) I told him the street it is located on and he said he would contact the driver. (Meanwhile, someone takes a call in the background with another customer obviously questioning their delivery whereabouts.) I called back to the restaurant at 8:25p questioning why we have still not received our delivery. I am informed that the delivery driver is new and they will be sending a different driver out to deliver our food. I have no idea why I had to contact the restaurant instead of being contacted directly by the driver for assistance. I informed the gentleman on the phone that I wanted a full refund because I am not paying at this point, he then told me that he would be delivering our food himself (mind you this was AFTER I demanded a refund). At 9p I call back asking what the heck is going on because no one has showed up. He said that he cancelled my delivery and issued a refund. (PB&J's tonight...
