People's Choice — Restaurant in Lauderhill

Let me start with saying Ive been ordering food from People’s Choice for years and never in my life have I experienced such horrible customer service…. I placed my order through seamless as I always do and came in to pick up. The Lady at the front with the blonde curly weave decides she want to give me a hard time all because she is not familiar with the 4 different apps you can place an order for their restaurant…. Let me also add I never seen this woman working there which is fine… I then proceed to tell her my name and what my order was because there is no order number to provide…. I also tell her what app I ordered from… This lady had the audacity to ask me what is that so I politely explained it’s one of the four option you are given to place your order through google for the restaurant… This lady then gets slick out her mouth and say you mean grubhub…. I said no I ordered through seamless then proceeded to say maybe they submitted through grub hub and I then restated the order verbatim… Instead of the lady looking at the ticket to make things go smoother she then proceeds to get smart with me like I’m a child…. I then explain that I am Pregnant with hypertension and can miscarry my baby for getting frustrated with her nonsense… This lady proceeded to give me an even harder time and sit my food on a chair while she continue with her smart remarks about her not caring about my condition and mucking me for calling on Jesus…. This is the worst service I every had and will not spend another penny with this Restaurant….

As my mom always said, “One bad apple can spoil a whole bunch.”

That made me realize why the restaurant looks like it will be closing soon and not many people come in to enjoy themselves…… Thank God I know how to cook my own authentic Jamaican food….

we came to people's choice because we were looking for a table for 7 at a good jamaican restaurant in ft. lauderdale on a wednesday and they said they had tables available. what a great decision! we entered the place and were immediately struck by the fact that there did not seem to be many people there. turns out that the jamaican community eats their big meal earlier in the day. junior came up and rescued us from our uncertainty about whether to stay. he told us he was going to take care of us and then gave us great descriptions of everything they could prepare for us including the old school wings with his mother's 34 year old sauce recipe which turned out to be what i can only describe as the best wings i've ever eaten. we had them as an appetizer and then set into our entrees. the curried goat was fantastic, as was the oxtail, and the vegetarian mixed fried veggies on top of homemade rice and beans. and junior was an awesome host and server. all of the food was tremendous and the price was remarkably reasonable. it was an adventure that we did not plan on but which turned out to make our night. all of us left with smiles on our faces and carry out containers in our hands. the small curried goat was probably enough to feed a family of four. i cannot say enough about how welcomed into his place junior made us feel and how delicious everything we were served tasted. when in ft lauderdale, do not miss a trip to people's choice. great jamaican food and great service all for a lot less than you would expect. i have given junior and people's choice five stars only because i cannot give him...

Never judge a book by its cover... My family & I have been traveling across Florida for years and so far it has been quite a task trying to locate an authentic Jamaican restaurant with deep roots planted in recreating those delicious meals our grannies or parents used to make on the coal stoves back home. I must say I have now been proven wrong as People's Choice truly passed my expectations and fulfilled every fiber of our beings. As we say back home, 'Dem likkle but dem tallawah.' The food tun up 'til it buck! We had a table of 8 and we all enjoyed all the variety of meals we craved for all day.

Thanks to the chef, Junior and Toni for the remarkable and unforgettable experience we had. Our Sunday dinner away from home was the best Jamaican meals we've since coming to Florida.

We will value this experience and hope that all who enter its door after we leave today will truly be as gratifying as ours.

May your customers leave with bang guts like we all did. I writ this whole still seated at the table with the itis fully consuming our entire bodies.
