Got a cortado with honey, plus the almond anise biscotti, and they were both great.
I can't speak to what it's like when it's busy since I came at 11 am on a weekday, but they were a perfect speed for my order based on how long it takes to make that drink (used to be a barista). They have a couple ordering screens, which I'm sure is great for improving speed during busy times or if you just aren't in the mood for talking to humans (me always).
The coffee itself was lovely - a perfect balance of getting that honey flavor without being too sweet. They do have free honey on the counter that I missed, so I feel a little silly for paying to have it added behind the counter for a drink as small as mine.
The roast itself was smooth with some toasted nutty notes, so it was a perfect pair with the biscotti. And the anise with the almond made it PERFECT for dipping in the coffee.
My only reason for leaving off a star is because it's not as cozy in there as I like for dining in at a coffee shop. The floors are concrete and there was only one little rug, so it didn't have a lot of personality. They have a small couch area and some lovely cozy music, but I really like feeling like I'm chatting with a friend in their living room anywhere in the shop. Very much a personal taste, though, so take with a grain of salt.
It was a blustery 65°F out, so I sat at their little table outside and enjoyed the view of the commons outside the apartments across the way, so it was still a win in the end.
All in all, a lovely place! It's tucked away in a cluster of apartments and office buildings, so I wouldn't have found it without Google. I'll...
Read moreA review for fellow remote workers! I am always on the hunt for places to work from. While I will probably return to The Coffeehouse and give it a 2nd chance, it left some things to be desired.
The good: very clean, very friendly and helpful baristas, and my cappuccino was delicious. Perfectly foamed, and great flavor on the espresso. I always appreciate when âfor hereâ coffee is served in a mug. The seating is comfortable, if you can get a spot.
The ok: it was a distracting environment. If the tables in the back are full (there are only 2 larger tables), youâre left with the small cafe tables which are tight with a laptop and drink. Only 1 or 2 have outlet access. Theyâre adjacent to the counter, so constant stream of people right next to your seating. Totally fine to sit with a friend and chat, but not as much if youâre working. Also, the baristas were SO friendly, but between their discussions with customers/calling out orders, and the music, it was a bit loud.
The bad: the spinach and feta croissant was a miss for me. I noticed a lot of folks ordering the skillet, French toast or a bagel, so maybe my mistake in ordering a less popular item. Good flavor, but not much lamination on the croissant. Warmed up I found the spinach feta filling made the croissant soggy and it wasnât a super pleasant eating experience.
Iâll definitely be back for great coffee and service, but as far as pastries or a quiet work environment go, there are better options...
Read moreStopped this morning randomly for a coffee (Apple Maps just routed me there as the closest coffee shop on my way to work) and what a pleasant surprise it was!
This place has great atmosphere, a very warm and inviting vibe, and the coffee was top notch!
The staff was friendly and efficient! There were about 6 or 7 of us in line and I was in and out in under 5 minutes, they made my coffee much faster than I expected and it was fantastic, great flavor, good foam, perfect balance of espresso and oat milk.
Whatever beans they use are great, no burnt aftertaste like you get a Starbucks, no aftertaste at all really, just a smooth, delicious coffee experience.
This place is out of the way for me, but I'm fully planning to stop by again with my wife this time, loved the low volume Christmas music, the decorations, the warm lighting and wood tones, the couches in the back looked super comfy, and of course the service was top tier!
P.S. Oh and they take Apple Pay which is always a plus for dumb-dumbs like me who always forget our wallets...
