Today me and my daughter visited Cava in Lawrenceville nj , the worst experience I’ve ever had , so there were a list of things they didn’t have on the door and in front where you order ! There were no Super greens , no greens at all ! No lentils, no pita chips and no bags for take out or pick up !! As I order for me and my daughter , the young lady serving the food threw our food in the bowl like she was serving slop ! We had to get rice because supposedly there were no greens !when she finished our bowls looked like she was saving a 2yr old food there was no food in the bowl and everything looked like someone ate it and spit it in a bowl ! As I move to the register to pay all of a sudden 6 trays of green , chicken , lentils come out so I’m looking at my daughter and I’m making sure that I read correctly that there were no green lentils pita chips or bags no one ever said oh Ms well give you what your order required, no one says anything ! No ones says we have greens their being prepared if you don’t mind waiting no one says anything!!!! She specifically sad they have no greens lentils etc etc I asked twice before she even prepared the bowl ! I’ve sent several emails to corporate , and their respond is can u give us credit card information!! I used cash to pay ! And I took the food without a receipt because I was so upset I just wanted to leave !! Management is horrible, everything is unorganized ! I saw customers with 5and 6 orders no bag ,they were walking out with their food in hand traveling back and forth because they couldn’t carry everything without a bag ! Read moreI’ve been a loyal Cava customer since the day this location opened, and I’ve always loved the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff, and the positive energy in the store. Unfortunately, over the last few weeks, I’ve noticed a big change and not for the better.
The employees, who were once so warm and joyful, now seem noticeably unhappy. On a recent visit, I witnessed a man I believe is named Alex speaking to one of the staff members in a very unprofessional way, loudly criticizing them in front of customers. It wasn’t just what he said, but how he said it his tone was harsh, and it was clear the employee was uncomfortable.
Since his arrival, the overall vibe has shifted. Staff members no longer seem as friendly or lively, and there’s a tense energy in the store. On another visit, I saw him tossing bowls to coworkers preparing food, which came across as impatient and disrespectful. I even spoke privately with an employee who confirmed that morale has dropped since he joined the team.
It’s disappointing to see such a negative change in a place that used to feel so welcoming. I truly hope management addresses this, because the Cava I know and love is a place where both customers and employees are happy. Right now, that spirit feels like it’s fading. Read moreFirst I would say the food is not bad I would give it a 8/10 but the customer service is terrible. I was there on 5/10/25 and the tall server a young man was so rude. He should not be making food with his nasty attitude. He literally did not even look as he scooped food. We asked for sour cream he scoop it and it fell on the counter and not the bowl. He didn’t even notice. Once I told him, he grabbed another scoop without looking and it wasn’t even sour cream, it was something else that I didn’t ask for. Then when we got to the end the server start shaking the bowl and attempted to move our food around( bare hands) so he can see what’s inside of it until I stopped him and simply told him what proteins we had. He could have easily asked his coworkers or even me. The staff is not warming and for this reason alone I don’t know if I would go back. The trash was over flowing, there was no forks stacked up, the restaurant needs to be cleaned through out the day. It seems to be ran by young adults who don’t care. I was very disappointed with the service. I tried to call and speak with a manager before leaving this review but I could not get an answer. I like to give them another chance and see if they can fix this first but literally everyone who came with me is ready to leave bad reviews. Which I told them not too until I speak with a manager.
