Nordstrom Rack — Local services in Lawrence Township

So, let me start by saying what a god damn mess this “rack” is. Walking in the store, you are met with nothing but mismatched shoes in the shoe section all thrown around messy, dirty, and mis-managed, like someone doesn’t care. That isn’t the best OR worst part, the women’s clothing section majority throughout the store is an embarrassing display of product. The god damn “Ross Dress for Less “and “Burlington Coat Factory” in the same plaza and the one over the street has more people shopping in their store and is MUCH, MUCH more organized and clean than this dump. The employees in the store especially the ones that are on the floor “doing work” and “sorting racks” or “organizing” whatever the hell word you want to use, are useless. I asked a store employee to check a shirt with no price tag on it only to be met by a smart comment “Oh this isn’t suppose to be out here, I’m going to have to remove it”. Whatever that means, couldn’t even get the shirt back or inquire again. When I went to try on a pair of jeans in the fitting room, the men’s side was dirty with massive amounts of hair, dust, and the occasional “security tag” pins with the sharp pointy end sticking up. I can’t wait to step on one or someone to step on one and have get the biggest lawsuit payout because of the lack of basic cleaniness in this store. Keep in mind this is only the men’s side in the fitting room. The women’s side is much, much worse, from what my Mom has said when SHE went to go try on a piece of clothing. Unfortunately you cannot really find any products you hope to find when you come in here because half the items and or products being sold are not in the correct spot or all over the ground. Not to mention if you even actually find something REMOTELY worth buying in this establishment, the checkout line is a god damn joke. When I lined up, they had 1-2 cashiers for maybe a line of 20-30 customers? Line moved 1 customer god awfully slow every 20-30 minutes probably because they were constantly asking customers to sign up for their little “Nordstrom credit card” that is not worth it and do not let those cashiers force you to get it, tell those people NO. Lastly, the jewelry section is a joke and a mess. Each product box has almost 1 missing earring or a necklace box just empty, probably because people stole the product just sitting there, it isn’t hard. I don’t think loss prevention works here or does anything because I came here years ago and they use to actually have 1-2 security guards all the time by the front, but I bet the company being cheap and cost cutting (would not be a surprise) relinquished those fine gentlemen of their jobs, how sad. Their establishment is basically inviting thieves, but the management or store manager doesn’t care because if they did, this honest review would not taken me 20 minutes to write up. Also if you need to use the bathroom, I don’t know about the women’s bathroom, but the men’s bathroom was smelly like sewage and dirty. This location has decent prices on clothing and a good selection— the reason that one star is deducted is because the line for the cash wrap is always super slow and long and sometimes communication is lacking (an associate will be scanning something or finishing out a prior return and won’t really say anything like “I’ll be right with you once I finish processing this” so people assume that they’re being rude or they approach without being called down and then back up, throwing the line off).

Pros: relatively kempt, decent selection, good pricing, flexible return policy, helpful associates, can return Nordstrom items to a Rack location

Cons: long cash wrap line, messy fitting rooms, people take underwear out of boxes and leave things half opened so you don’t know if you’re getting both items in a two-pack Tommy Johns, for example (and this isn’t their fault but the clientele at Nordstrom Rack are sometimes missing common decency...

I have got incredible deals at this store. The quality of clothing at this price is unmatched in this area. If you shop for clothes that you are going to wear for your whole life and aren't going to last only 2 years, this is where you want to go to find them at good prices. There are many authentic designer clothes at the premium quality level that you can get at 80% if you get lucky with a good find, which I have many many times, which keeps me coming back. There are also some outlet or factory designer avalible here from brands that you can find at competition stores, but you wont get the same amount of higher designers at those stores. I have been shopping at this location for almost 5 years and their better items definitely come in waves and seasons as their brands have changed.
