This small restaurant is a great place to bring friends and family for something casual. I had taro milk boba tea, which was amazing. It's the best taro flavor out of the local places I've tried that serve bubble tea. The tea was rich and almost creamy, and far more filling than I expected.

I had the tonkotsu ramen option but with udon noodles. This is something I enjoy here - you can customize your ramen order to use a different noodle option, such as buckwheat, udon, or rice noodles. You can also easily mark down what stuff you don't want included, and what extras you want. It's a very simple system that makes it clear from the start what customizations are possible. I always prefer this over having to ask staff if they have so-and-so as an add-on. Clear information is always appreciated and makes things easier for everyone.

The noodles were extremely tasty. The roast pork that came with it was soft and tender, easy to tear off with my teeth, and the three pieces of pork you get are really big. The udon noodles were soft and chewy, absolutely perfect in my opinion. The broth was extremely flavorful and creamy - I couldn't ask for any improvements with my noodle order.

I would have loved to try some of the appetizers or a sushi burrito, or maybe have a mango mochi for dessert, but the noodle portions are so big, I actually couldn't have anything after the noodles and bubble tea. If you come with a friend, I'd recommend ordering the appetizers and other things you want, and splitting a noodle order. The noodles definitely seem to be sharing portions.

The staff were very kind, friendly, and patient, and my orders came out very quickly. You can just wave your hand if you need anything, since the staff have a view of the whole restaurant from the counter. Since I went at an off-peak time when the restaurant was mostly empty, I was able to sit and read for a good while, even after finishing my food, and I always appreciate places that let you do this. It's so nice to have places that just let you chill if it's not busy.

I do also like that the menu had photos on it. Photos of the dishes always really helps. I'd love to come back again and try the sushi burritos, the appetizers, and the mochi. Looking...

REVIEW EDITED 2 years later, May 2024.

Good food, good rolls with fresh tuna and salmon, among other varieties. The bowl of ramen is quite big and more than enough for one person, no need for appetizers. If choosing your food smartly, your check might be under $40 for 2 people. Quick, efficient, and friendly service. We completely changed our mind (the previous experience was a take-out during the pandemic) and are giving Soya Ramen & Sushi 5 stars, wholeheartedly. Very disappointing experience.

Shrimp Shoyu Ramen advertised "large shrimp" as one of its ingredients, featuring regular-size tasteless - or rather cardboard-tasting - shrimp one finds at ShopRite, the ubiquitous shrimp cocktail in black plastic trays. The other ingredient we picked was "thick wavy noodles" which were anything but thick.

The steamed shumai we ordered was served fried.

The size of our ramen was unusually small.

From our steamed buns (chicken katsu, cucumber, lettuce, scallion, signature glaze) cucumber, and scallions were missing in action, just a leaf of wilted lettuce.

Two different sushi burritos we ordered were just OK, quite average. And so was spicy tuna rolls.

The night before we had a similar take-out from Terakawa Ramen on Alexander Rd in Princeton Junction. That was a satisfying meal, authentic with generous-sized portions. That's where we will be ordering our next ramen take-out from. Definitely not from Soya Ramen. Most certainly...

This is the kind of place you go to if it happens to be close and convenient. The ramen my wife and son had (pork tonkatsu) was fine. Adequate. My curry ramen faired no better. In both dishes the pork was grilled and dry. Even tough. The noodles in all the dishes seemed a little undercooked.

The portions were small for the money, and even though we ate inside, we ate out of to-go containers with cheap thin plastic spoons that fall right into the bowl, as mine did. The only upside was that there were lid's available and we didn't have to transfer my wife and son's leftovers into another container since they were in to-go containers from the start - just add the lid.

The only truly bad part of the meal was dessert. We ordered red bean and strawberry mochi. They might have been hand made, but they were so freezer damaged that the mochi rice outside was brittle. They were pretty gross as a whole, though the ice cream inside was fine.

Even though the staff was nice and friendly, there's no real reason to go here instead of Terrakawa, which is only minutes away. Same basic price, but worlds...

This place is located within this plaza right by the mall. Got a big parking lot to avoid the struggle of street parking. Not a big place but you walked in to about 5 tables of 4 seaters. Yes they are open for dine in. Good variety of food selections available. They also have bubble tea; however, I didn’t try their bubble tea. I ordered a make my own sushi burrito, a braised diced pork with noodle, and a curry ramen. Food taste and quality is not bad, but I feel like the portion is a bit small. The braised diced pork with noodle is actually very oily at the bottom. So towards the end, you would feel like you’re just eating oil, very greasy. I should have taken a picture of those oil in the bowl. Overall, it’s not too bad.
