Very frustrated at I write this. I have celiac disease and so have to be very careful with gluten. I have eaten from multiple other Papa Murphy's and they've been great. I order my gluten free crust and tell them it's for gluten allergy (more widely recognized and so easier than explaining celiac as the food is handled the same). That is all I normally have to do. Staff then changes gloves, gets my crust and pulls my ingredients from fresh tubs that haven't been touched yet. This store did not do any of this. Initially they changed gloves, but they were pulling from the regular ingredients. On top of that they would do a little on my pizza, then go work with regular pizzas and then come back to mine with the same gloves on. Finally I asked them to simply refund my money as I could not safely eat the food. They refused and began lecturing me on how none of their ingredients are gluten free. Ultimately I left. I tried to call their customer service but it was closed. I had to call my bank to have them block the charge.
I'm ok with not being able to do gluten free. If you don't wanna do it fine. At least give me my money back though. Don't lecture me and only offer me a card for a free pizza your telling me you can't make in a way...
Read moreI went in tonight to pick up a 2 liter that I ordered earlier at 6:58pm. I went in just before close (not ideal but I called ahead to confirm that it was okay) and the gm was not having it with me saying that i likely didn't actually buy what i ordered when I did and my bank even took the money when I placed the order. Never had such difficulty trying to redeem a coupon with a rude gm acting like I'm stupid and don't have money. I've worked in food service all my life and wouldn't treat someone like I was treated tonight... especially after I PAID for my order. Too bad the Iowa location isn't open anymore because I don't care for this location with how it's run, at least when it comes to utilizing the app deals. Read morePapa Murphy's has been my favorite pizza place for 20 years. I have been a chef for just as long. I love knowing grabbing a great base and then adding my own twist at home, either in baking or ingredients, was always going to make a delicious pizza. That's a thing that is actually important to me. My experience yesterday at my local store (Congressional and 6th in Lawrence, Ks) was TERRIBLE. I called to inquire about something with intent to order, even spend kind of ridiculous amount for some extra, but instead of hearing me, they said an obvious non commital reference to the higher ups, and HUNG UP on me. Did not hear my question at all. I have always found Papa Murphy's to be not only the friendliest but most hygienic stores of its kind, and I am baffled at this behavior.
