There has been a change in ownership of this chain. It had been a Kansas City chain, but has been bought by a Topeka owner. When this restaurant first opened in Lawrence, I was very pleased to see it arrive here. I joined its frequent diner's Spin Club. I was provided with a card, which I brought with me and showed to the cashier when I paid for dinners. More recently, I was informed that the card was no longer honored. I was given a notification card saying I needed to download an app to join the new Spin Club. The notification said I would receive $5 in credit just for joining and would be able to transfer credit from my prior Spin Card. I was also told I would be able to get credit for the dinner I had just purchased at Spin.
I downloaded the app. I could find no way to transfer prior credits, since the app asks for a password. There was no password for the prior card. I also could find no way to get credit for the dinner that I had just purchased for two of us. The app provides a way to email someone about problems. I scanned the dinner receipt and sent it by email to their management. In a reply, I was given credit for my dinner but no credit for uses of the prior card. I was told that there no longer is a card for the new club. I was told to provide my phone number to the cashier in the future instead of a card.
A week later, I returned. I bought a dinner for four of us. At the register, I was asked whether I wanted to use the $5 in credit. I said yes. I provided my phone number for the latest dinner. I insisted on an itemized bill to prove what I had purchased. When I returned home, I checked the app online. There was no $5 credit, and the price of the dinner had been declined for credit with the Spin Club for no reason at all. I scanned the receipt and emailed it to the person who had taken care of the prior failure to give me credit in the new frequent diner club for my purchases. I sent two email messages. This time I receive no replies at all.
This restaurant would be better off having no frequent diners club than one that reflects so poorly on the current ownership and management. I will never return to this Spin or any other restaurant...
Read moreOrdered a pizza for curbside pickup. Last pizza of the night. Watched the pizza come out of the oven a little later than expected, but no biggie. Watched all of the staff leave the pizza on the counter. Watched the staff all look outside at different times to see us waiting in the to go spot in the parking lot. Headlights on. Only car in the parking lot in front of the building and they watched us pull up. Again curbside pickup chosen. Finally decided to go after waiting until after they had closed and pick up my Togo pizza and right when we got out of the car and the lady inside saw us get out of our car, the lady working grabbed the pizza and headed our way. This was after she grabbed the pizza and then looked at us, then set it back on the counter. Then proceeded to put trash bags into the trash cans. So we got our pizza handed to us at the door, after the lady touched the trash cans and we had already waited. She asked if we had called, we said well, we didn’t think we had to since we were the only car in the parking lot and all of you saw us and it was curbside to go. Unfortunately it doesn’t even matter if the pizza is good or not at this point. The service was...
Read moreI would not eat here again, at least not pizza. It's basically pita bread with a lot of cheese. I ordered a double pepperoni pizza with ham and mushrooms and it came to my table there was very little pepperoni, ham or mushroom on top. I asked the Generation Y proprietor as to whether this was actually a double pepperoni pizza and he said without any other words that "it is a double pepperoni pizza". Amazing customer service skills. When did I pee in his cornflakes? I did find out after a few bites that there was some pepperoni underneath the cheese as well. Not much though. I wasn't expecting that and didn't like it that way. The pepperoni on top exposed to the heat directly was dried out though not burnt or crispy, just dry. The pepperoni underneath the cheese was like you would get on toasted sub from Subway, barely warm. There was no tomato sauce to speak of either. Very...
