Taqueria La Pasadita — Restaurant in Lawrence

Blown away by how they have such great reviews based on my experience. I would rate them 1 star if I could. There were two hairs in my food (pictured) and when I called to let the restaurant know and ask for a refund, the “owner” has a terrible attitude and got defensive. He claimed they could not confirm if the hair came from their restaurant or if it got into my food on my drive back home. I ordered the gringa which is a quesadilla. So essentially they are claiming that I somehow opened the packages and bagged food, opened my quesadilla, and had two black hairs fall into it while I was driving home. When I started to eat the food I took two bites and on the third bite is when a long black hair came out. I opened the quesadilla and found another black hair mixed in. Their attitude about this situation blew me away, this is no way to run a business or treat customers. They were highly recommended by a family member and they lost all of mine and their respect and business. They wanted to give me a $10 refund on a $50 bill while myself and two others could not even finish our meals because of how disgusted we were. Horrible...

I hadn't been to La Pasadita since Covid bc I always forget about it, but it's still really tasty. The chicken burrito was authentic and had good flavor and the salsas were excellent. Next time I'll get extra onions and cilantro. I'll also eat in and try their margs and tres leches. I like the location and size of this taqueria, and the shaded outdoor seating. The restaurant is painted a really pretty, vibrant blue and the declarative stucco texture is a refreshing change. Parking behind the building is tight but in a pinch it'd work to park across 19th behind the gas station. Between the bright color and stucco, the traffic on the corner, the Mexican telenovela on TV and the kiddos inside playing on their phone while waiting patiently for their hard-working parents, it felt a little like being in a Mexican town. Food is bland with no flavor. When you walk in the owner or the guy who takes the orders just looks at you like you’re stupid. No signs saying either to seat yourself or wait to be seated. He served a couple their food before us and I was there and ordered before they even sat down and ordered. When he brought us our food he didn’t even know whose food belonged to who. I ordered a coke and he gave me a larger size coke that cost more with out me knowing. Had to ask for a receipt itemized out because the price seemed too high. And sure enough. Then he says well we don’t have the smaller Coke anyways everyone gets the larger one. If they were smart they would take it off the menu if it’s not there or atleast let me know before giving me something more expensive than I asked for. Horrible experience.
