It is a nice, clean restaurant. Comfortable seating. The restaurant was a quiet place even with three or four TV's turned on. No loud shouting, no rudeness that I could hear. When we first got there, only three tables were taken. And there were two servers plus the awesome manager. I say awesome because she was out on the floor helping the servers. Not one bad word from her. Smiling, checking on everyone. Then the shift was over and the manager was alone. It got busy enough to keep her on her toes. I asked our server if the BBQ sandwich was spicey and she brought out a small sample in a bowl. I and my husband was hooked. Unlike many places, Wright's cooks the beef and BBQ sauce together to create a mouthwatering experience. It was so good that when my sandwich came out I forgot to take a picture! Our server was very good. Keeping track of how we were doing. Our food came out quickly. And it was hot. Even though they toasted the bun it was just crispy enough. I'm sorry for those who had a bad experience but I would ask you to give it another try. When a restaurant first opens, it's confusing for the servers. Especially those who had no experience. Therefore orders may be wrong, may take time to come out, be cold. You might not get your drink refilled as quickly as you would like. If you can, have a little patience. Especially when you see that it may be busy to the point there might not be any open tables or very few. The servers are doing their best to ensure you a quality time at Wright's.
Jan. 27, 2019 We went to Wright’s Family Diner this Sunday. The special was turkey and dressing plus sides. Once again...amazing! The restaurant was packed with customers and yet I failed to see anything but smiles on the servers. Below is a picture of the special. Under the turkey and gravy is a serving of mashed potatoes and one...
Read moreGlad we made a last second decision to stop at this diner on our way through Lawton. When we pulled in around 2:00 p.m., the parking lot was full so my husband commented that it must be good, and he was right. He ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and fried okra and I got the special of stew and cornbread. The portions of both were very huge and we could have easily shared one. He got his chicken fried chicken with brown gravy instead of white and it couldn't have been better. The seasoning was perfect on both the chicken and in the gravy. The fried okra was some of the best I've ever tasted. My stew came in a very large bowl and was very good also. I wasn't a fan of the cornbread but that could just be me. The good news (well kinda) was that my husband left his phone at the restaurant when we left. When we discovered it gone, we had to make a return trip to recover it. And since we were already there, I had to have a piece of their pie to go. So glad that I did because the coconut meringue pie was homemade and again, was one of the best I've ever had. Customer service was also great! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're...
Read moreI heard about this restaurant from a friend that had been to a Wrights in Duncan and was looking forward to a new experience. The place was packed and seating is tight. It is a seat yourself place so we settled ourselves selves in. We had over a half hour wait before we we were offered a menu and order our drinks. And about the same wait to take our orders. Our meal came nearly an hour later. Hers was chicken fryed steak it was raw and l odered chicken fryed chicken mine was so over cooked and so had l was unable to cut most of it. The side dishes were delicious but they forgot one of hers and it took quite a while to catch a waitress to get it. When we left l spoke to the manager about our experience and was told that everyone all the cooks, waitstaff ect. Were new and didn't know how to work together. What ?? We were sorely disappointed and just as we were checking out the cashier had a meltdown about her hours and when l handed her my bill she threw it at me and stomped off. It wasn't an experience l'd...
