Sleep Inn & Suites Lawton Near Fort Sill — Hotel in Lawton

I do not know where all of these good reviews are coming from, but I cannot say I share their same sentiments. I usually choose a different hotel when I stay in Lawton, but this time I chose this one due to the price and the so called good reviews. When we walked into our room it had a VERY strong Ozone smell. This was concerning to me as I know ozone is used to neutralize stubborn foul odors. The room had fresh sheets but the covers looked like they needed a washing. The floor had food crumbs and it was obvious it had not been vacuumed. The tub was wet like someone had maybe turned on the shower, but there were hairs in the bottom and very dark stains. The sidewalls had a very dirty grime on them, but the shower curtain was surprisingly fresh and clean. The toilet and sink were both clean. There was blood splattered on the lampshade next to the bed and my daughter found a small bottle of liquor under the chair. The refrigerator did not seem to be working and had a mildew smell. We prepaid to stay 2 nights. I will never do this again as I could not get out of the bill. The second day we were there, housekeeping came and I opted out of the room cleaning as we were fixing to leave and I do not like leaving my personal belongings unattended. The housekeeper asked if she could come in for just a minute and check something. She went in the bathroom and said she could still smell the sewer smell that they had been having a problem with in that room. I personally did not smell this at the time, but told her that I could only smell STRONG Ozone. She asked me if she could pour Pinesol down the drain of the tub and I told her no as strong smells give me headaches. She asked if she could use plug ins and I declined that as well. I asked her if she knew what Ozone was and why it was so strong in there. She said that maybe they were pumping it into the room to help with the smell. When we came back that evening, the ozone smell had been turned off and there was an OBVIOUS sewer smell. It was late and we were leaving the next morning so we just went to bed. When I checked out, I did let them know that there was a sewer smell and that the room could have used a better cleaning. I will never stay in this hotel again. For about $30 more per night, I could have been in a clean room with no smell in another hotel. It would have been worth it! Very...

Don’t look any where else, BOOK this hotel immediately! This hotel is super clean/immaculate. Front desk is super courteous and helpful. Check in was easy and effortless. I had reservations on June 2-4 to attend Fort Sill Army Base graduation. However I ended up arriving a day earlier, and when I went to the hotel to see about getting a room I was able to book a room that night. Which was a huge surprise since all surrounding hotels where booked due to the graduation. I also received a graduation discount. My room was so nice, as soon as I opened the door, the decor was very nice like a lot of thought went into it. It smelled nice and fresh. The bathroom was pristine and the towels where brilliant white. The tub area looked as though it had never been used that’s how clean it was. My bedroom area was spacious with 2 queens with 4 fluffy pillows on each each bed. The room key folder has the WiFi code on it. The appliances in the room didn’t have a smudge on them. The refrigerator and microwave was immaculate. There is a nice seating area next to the window The ac works perfectly. Our beds was so soft I immediately fell asleep. Hot Breakfast is served EVERYDAY and it was delicious. Especially the biscuits with sausage gravy! Seasoned just right! The dining area is spacious and clean. I also used the indoor pool, lounge area and outdoor patio. My family and friends enjoyed the amenities very much. After I checked out the front desk called to tell me they found an item I had left behind in the room. I was still in the areas so I was able to stop by and pick it up. They had it folded nicely in a laundry bag. Such a pleasant stay, I didn’t want to leave!

All the other hotels around the Lawton/ Fort Sill area didn’t really have great reviews. Which says a lot to me because I am VERY particular about where I stay. As matter of fact I have never stayed anywhere but Embassy Suites by Hilton because they are always way a step above. This hotel is definitely a new favorite of mine and if I find myself in Lawton again this is definitely where I will stay again. I was so impressed that I downloaded the Choice hotel app. I just hope the other Choice hotels are as nice...

This is a horrible location. I recommend you go a block down the street to the Comfort Suites if you must stay at a Choice location.

The night clerk at this location is beyond rude.

We showed up late after driving 3 hours to discover that my GF had entered the wrong dates for the reservation and we didn’t have a room reserved. She had the year as 23 not 22, Not blaming the hotel for that. That was our mistake. However the night manager was so rude to my GF over the incorrect dates she left and went back out to the vehicle.

I inquired if they had any other rooms available. The night clerk said they had 1 queen left. I gave her my card to book the room and told her to give me a minute to check with my GF and see if she wanted to stay or go back home.

I walked out to the vehicle talked my GF who declined to stay after her dealings with the manager. I walked back inside told her we did not want the room and left.

We ended up getting a room at the Comfort Suites just down the road.

I get my Credit Card statement and she not only billed ME for the room. She lied and entered into the system I was billed as a “no show”. I know this because I called and spoke with the day shift manager.

1st off this was booked on my GF card and choice rewards not mine.

2nd the booking was for a year in the future so how could she be a “no-show”? Is she a time traveler ? If we were a “no-show” how did they get my card number that is not on her account anywhere. Also we canceled the future reservation well within the slowed period. I think a year notice meets the requirement.

3rd I gave her my card to book the last available room. My transaction had nothing to do with my GF reservation. And I declined that room & never signed anything and never authorized her to charge my card for anything.

I don’t know if they are going to refund my money. If they do not I will report this as fraud to my CC and ask them to pursue charges. The night manager lied and entered false information into the system to justify billing my card. That is FRAUD!!

Save yourself the headaches and stay somewhere that appreciates your business. Sleep Inn in Lawton is...
