I love Mexican food and I'm always looking to try something new. When I saw this place opening I could not wait to try it. I read many great reviews about it on Facebook and checked out their online menu prior to coming. I chose to start with three street tacos: Barbacoa, Pastor and a steak with mild sauce on the side and limes. And i added a fountain drink. Total was just over $16. Ordering was fast since it was just me and it is assembly-line style. Service was friendly. Prices are average for a brick and mortar taco place. Now let's talk about those two stars. First off, they charge 4% on cards, would be nice if that was advertised like you advertise the $1 you add for to-go orders. Instead, it's taped to the register only to be noticed when you pay. I would have brought cash if i had known. Second, I pay an extra dollar to get my tacos in a piece of foil? Yea ok. Third(most important), the flavor is lacking. The steak taco was the only one i could finish. It wasn't bland but it didn't have much flavor. The pastor and barbacoa both lacked flavor and had a very tuna fish type consistency, almost mushy vs tender. I couldn't finish either of those. The salsa had little flavor so it had no effect on the poor flavor of the tacos. The limes were fresh and my favorite part of the meal. Overall, there are way more flavorful Mexican food places in Leavenworth/Lansing area (or even if you take a short trip to KCK. )

Think Subway, but more Latino/Mexican food. You decide what you want (soft tacos, burritos, hard tacos, bowl, etc). Then you walk down the line and point at the toppings you want on top of your meat! (Cilantro, pico de gallo, chileese, diced tomatoes, etc) Meat choices: I saw chicken and beef and chorizo, but I didn't see pork. The street tacos are HUGE! Instead of the tiny-tiny corn soft tacos they give you a thin, medium-sized flour soft tacos. I ordered 4 street tacos and finished 2 and a half before I got full - they were STUFFED and spilling out. Delicious!! I asked for a side of queso - to put on my tacos - they misunderstood and gave me a big bag of chips to dip in the container of melted and hot queso. Even though I said I didn't want chips the queso was still about $7. Their horchata is more on the milky side rather than a rice-water, but still very good! Also, they have Jarritos sodas. I asked for two: Guava and Mango. They also had watermelon and several other flavors.

Update! Thought I would order from here again and try something new. I got a machete this time with steak. I wasn’t a big fan of it. The steak and everything else was good, but the tortilla they use was the only drawback for me. Horchata subpar, I’ve had better. I have ordered from here 3 times, twice on DoorDash, and once In store. I ordered the steak bowl all 3 times, and I have been happy each time. Consistency is key, and they do a good job nailing that. I would say as a tip, whatever sauce you want. Get 3 times as much as they put in there, as the rice tends to soak it all up. Everything taste fresh! Mild salsa has a great flavor to it. Wish they were cheaper on their prices. If their bowls were $10, I’d probably spend $70 a week, compared to the $15 that I spend now just for a bowl. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return.

Watch closely for Hair tangled in your food.........We live right up the street and we're there the day of opening and once since but Friday night my fiance and I went to eat and in his bowl as he goes to fork his food a extremely long black hair was tangled in his food they asked him if he wanted another one, why would he.... who knows where it came from then the just gave him $11 mind you it's 10.99 a bowl I had pulled pork so I lost all appetite immediately who wouldn't......he should of been reimbursed for it all ....this is why all restaurants should wear Hairnets there was one lady with long black hair working just goes to show how much care and concern they put into their establishment......sad but true we would not recommend nor eat their ever again and you can't sit outside to many flys and honestly the inside isn't very clean kept And upon my review the response was the state of Kansas doesn't require hairnets....no but if you cared about the experiences and hair not being in food you'd want your employees to take extra precautions........I work at a company who's sells bags to grain and seed companies even we wear Hairnets as...

Could not be more happy with the quality of food here. I had the three street taco platter. I think it was $9.99. I had pastor or however you speel that word. Anyhow, they really were the best street tacos 🌮 I have had in a long time. Plus they let you put anything on them, which kind of makes them non street tacos. Lol seriously so good. My better half had a burrito bowl with like 4 pounds of goodies in it. I tasted it and it was pretty good. I am not a fan of guacamole so the bowl was not my style. However, my wife said she thought it was super good. Oh yeah and she had pork. The margaritas are huge and only $7.99. We should have only ordered one between us two but forget about it we got two. Good times!!!! I tasted it and it was pretty good. I am not a fan of guacamole so the bowl was not my style. However, my wife said she thought it was super good. Oh yeah and she had pork.
