My friend and I went to Bloom and had lunch a couple weeks ago and while the food and tea were absolutely delicious, the staff wasn’t quite as friendly and helpful as we would have expected. We were informed on a Saturday around 11am that we needed a reservation which is not made very clear on the website, I still have yet to find where it states you need one for just a normal day with no events. They said we couldn’t have certain items because we didn’t make a reservation but we could still dine. When we asked about certain tea flavors the waitress said “don’t ask me about the teas, I have no idea.” This is a Tea House, why wouldn’t the servers know how to describe certain teas to customers? We decided to return the following weekend with a reservation because we really enjoyed the food, and we were considering the place for a bridal shower. This time we were sat right away, but we had to make multiple adjustments to our orders because the servers would return saying they didn’t have something. As we were paying to leave, more patrons came into the building to have lunch when the woman running our cards said very loudly, “I don’t know why all these people are coming in, we don’t have any tables!”
The food is wonderful as well as the tea, but the staff needs to maybe work on their customer service and the website should state more clearly the...

I’ve given this tea house multiple chances because I genuinely want to support them, but every visit leaves me disappointed. The setup is awkward—all the teas are behind a counter, making it difficult to see what’s available. You have to step behind the desk just to look, and the owner often stands in the way, shuffling boxes around without acknowledging customers or saying “excuse me.” It makes the experience feel unwelcoming and uncomfortable.
I’ve asked for a tea list several times, but they don’t provide one because their selection rotates. While I understand inventory changes, it seems reasonable to update a list when placing new orders or reviewing stock. As a customer, I’d spend more money if I could actually see and understand what’s available.
To make matters worse, the owner is consistently rude. Every visit has been met with a lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. I truly want to support this business, but their attitude and disorganization make it impossible to enjoy...
Read moreMy two year old and I stopped here for lunch when Hazella was closed. Daughter has excellent manners, stayed on her bottom, used all the regular dishes (including the china teacup!) with no issue, uses her napkin and chews with her mouth closed. There was no shrieking or unpleasant effect on the other clientele. When the server came to our table she apologized that it wasn't a kid friendly place, though there is a Children's Tea on the menu. She never brought the sugar, and when she had to substitute our 1st choice of tea didn't ask if we'd want cream (with the blueberry, the cream would curdle, but with our 2nd choice of Lavender Lace it wouldn't). The teapot wasn't brought until 10-15 minutes into our service. Overall, although the food was nice and the ambiance was good, I felt entirely unwelcome and like I was putting them out at every stage of our experience. There were 4 other tables, all with staggered arrivals, so it's not like they were slammed. A little frustrating, definitely...
