Read moreI was also roped in by the overall positive reviews. I called in with some cursory questions, then ordered. Greek salad, veggie deluxe pizza add meatball, calzone with grilled chicken. Go to pick up and no problem with the wait, get home, open salad first which has no tomato and no ham and no feta. I call up asking what was up with it and they rung it up as a cesar salad, so now I have a cesar salad with no cesar dressing, which is basically lettuce, onions and olives (oh, and oil and vinegar which are great on a greek salad) I'm ok with the salad being a dud and move on to the calzone, which is pretty soft (I;m used to a much different dough for calzones, where you can drag a knife across it and get that crisp sound) Grilled chicken turns out to be ground chicken? Or maybe it's just minced finely enough that it might as well be ground? I'm used to grilled chicken being recognizable slices. Ok, so two not so great dishes, maybe the pizza will pull a hail mary. (it did not) It's probably the saltiest veggie pizza I have ever eaten and -also- the veggies are so finely diced I had a hard time telling what was what unless I started dissecting the pizza. (Seriously, these veggies were two steps from being minced) What was more perplexing was why was it so salty? After examining the parts of the pizza it occurred to me that the dough was the culprit and was just waaay over-salted.
I spent just under 60 bucks on all of this and I doubt any of my words will reach anyone or make a lick of difference, but here we are. In a perfect world the owners would read this and correct some of the problems or some poor sap would stumble across the review and save themselves the trouble. I am well and truly...
Read moreMy friend and I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere was good, and I enjoyed the older music they were playing. The waitress was friendly, and we had no issues with her. I was looking at the ravioli, and I asked if they made it in-house. She said no, but the sauce was homemade. I decided on the baked spaghetti with marinara, and my friend got baked spaghetti with meat sauce. We got our side salad first. It was decent. Not much on it, but it was ok. Then our pasta came out along with the garlic knots. The rolls were strangely dense, and I was done after my first bite. Then we tried our pasta. My friend had this look on her face, and she asked what I thought. Not very good, I said. It's edible, nothing more. She said she thought it tasted like they were trying to pass off Campbell's tomato soup as their homemade sauce. There was pretty much no seasoning in the sauce, but luckily there were condiments on the table. I added their garlic powder, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and basil flakes, and it was a little better. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the $3.50 price for a soft drink, which is a little higher than most, but this is with NO free refills! If you want a refill, it costs a dollar. Who in this day and age doesn't give drink refills? Nowhere that I frequent. So unfortunately, I will...
