Thankful for Their Thanksgiving Eve Bash! The last time we visited, it was for the Christmas in July Bash. The Thanksgiving Eve Bash on Nov. 22, 2023 was a great party and it looked like every beer drinker in Ft. Myers was there. Several food trucks were serving up great looking food. DJ Memphis was playing tunes, followed by Rock Republic, a very popular and great sounding area rock band. And of course, we were all thankful for the variety of beers and other drink offerings the brewers at Ft. Myers had available. We tried several seasonal offerings. 2 Star's Wish, a Christmas ale with the usual spice notes and not at all hoppy. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter was just like a dark chocolate vs. peanut butter matchup that was wonderfully tasty. The Cranberry Shandy was indeed a shandy with a flavor of more lemonade and just a little cranberry - very refreshing. The Dunkel Bobby is a dark German style dunkel - very good. The Pumpkin Porter was a huge hit with a very nice pumpkin flavor. We had a wonderful evening between the beer and the music and Ft. Myers Brewing really knows how to throw a bash.
Xmas Fest In July Was Great! W e happened to be in the Ft. Myers area at the end of July and they were throwing a Xmas Beer Fest. The temperature had to be close to 100 with pretty high humidity so cold beer at a brewery sounded like a perfect place to go. There were loads of people there and what a party out behind the brewery. Several food trucks, live music, Santa and The Grinch visiting with revelers and of course, lots of beer. For this special event, they brewed up 10 holiday beers, perfect for a 10 selection flight ($30.00). The beers ran from a very light pilsner to a higher ABV stout. I found it to be a good tasting experience, but the heat of the day warmed the beers up quickly. We had great fun and I enjoyed talking with some of the workers who are also the...

Their Story:
Itās a long way from San Diego to Michigan, but if not for that distance - Ā Fort Myers Brewing CO. might never have come to be.
Rob Whyte began brewing in his hometown of San Diego in the early 90s but by the time he and Jen Gratz-Whyte were married, his time making beer had all but went away. It was only Jenās work schedule that changed the narrative. Jen, a Michigan native with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, took a position which required her spent to spend a considerable amount of time back in Michigan where her career had begun.
When the duo moved to Florida in 2011, Fort Myers was without a single local brewery, an opportunity the two could not pass up. After two years of research and planning, Fort Myers Brewing Company opened its doors with very modest aspirations. What started as a small system serving a few drafts from a simple tasting room that bore a remarkable resemblance to someoneās basement has since grown into a four-vessel 10-barrel brew system with 90, 60 and 20 barrel fermentation tanks that churn out draft and packaging to service an ever- expanding distribution points and a constantly busy and growing tasting room and outdoor social hangout. Rob and Jen found that their favorite breweries shared more in common than great beer. They all served as a gathering place where new and old friends could mingle and a sense of community could be felt by all. It was only natural then that they would decide to open Fort Myers Brewing Company in the community they call home, Gateway, and build a place for family (including the furry family members) with an open seating plan that helps strangers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a great time my wife and I had at the Fort Myers Brewing Company. We visited them on a Thursday night, which apparently is known as Trivia Thursday. Food: The place does not serve food, however, there were a few food trucks offering fantastic food items that matched perfectly wuth the beers from the brewery. Drinks: It is a Brewery, so as expected you will have a plethora of options for beer. All types of flavors, styles, sizes, and prices. Price: Expect to spend $20+ per person. Atmosphere: Trivia night was a huge success. The lot was full of families. A lot of people bring their own chairs and tables, which made it much more comfortable for everyone else (like me) who didn't. Pet friendly and children friendly (minus the beer lol) If you would like to see some more in detailed reviews of local places, consider visiting my Instagram page @JulioReview. You will find many new local places you haven't yet tried. I will definitely come back to out more beers and show the brewing process. Follow for moreš...
