Steak and Stone – Birthday Dinner Review Last night, my wife and I visited Steak and Stone for my 49th birthday. We arrived right at 4 PM as they were opening. Though they opened a couple of minutes late, it wasn’t a big deal—understandable. We were seated immediately, received our drinks, and got the menus right away, which was nice. It seemed like we had a new waitress because she didn’t mention any specials, which was surprising. My wife has celiac disease and is highly allergic to gluten. Steak and Stone is supposedly a good option for people with celiac disease, so we expected them to handle it well. My wife specifically asked them to take proper precautions. However, something in her salad triggered an allergic reaction, possibly due to cross-contamination, because her stomach started swelling shortly after eating. When our main dishes arrived, we both had loaded mashed potatoes since the baked potatoes weren’t ready for another hour. The mashed potatoes were good, but the baked option being unavailable was a bit of a letdown. I had a ribeye that was slightly dry, though the flavor and portion size were solid. My wife’s shrimp was good and large, which was a plus. The major concern was the lack of attention to the gluten-free aspect, despite the restaurant’s reputation. My wife continued to swell throughout the evening and was still sick the next day. It would be helpful if the menu clearly labeled gluten-free items to avoid this kind of issue. Additionally, I later learned they had elk and other specials, which were never offered to us. That’s why I ended up with a standard ribeye. I would likely go back again on my own, but I believe they need to revise their menu to better cater to customers with gluten allergies and provide more transparent communication about specials. Maybe we just expected more. I will try this place again because it deserves a second chance. I don’t like being hard on reviews but I see what S&S can become. Thank you. FOLLOW UP REVIEW: Steak N Stone – A Much-Improved Experience I decided to give Steak N Stone a second chance for a review, and I’m glad I did! This time around, the experience was fantastic. My wife had a gluten-free pizza, and I went with the 12oz ribeye, cooked medium. It was absolutely perfect—juicy, flavorful, and tender. The baked potato was equally wonderful, cooked just right and loaded with flavor. I also had the chance to meet the owner and chef, who were both incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s clear they care deeply about the quality of their food and the satisfaction of their customers. There’s honestly not a single negative thing to say about this visit. While my first experience might not have been the best, they more than redeemed themselves this time around. Everyone deserves a second chance, and Steak N Stone proved they’re worth it. Highly recommend! -They brought my wife out a wonderful gf chocolate torte that was picture worthy and delicious as well.

Update: Since I posted this review, I reached out to one of the restaurant owners via social media. Within a few minutes he called me directly. I was very impressed that the owner took time to call me personally(being that he was in Florida on vacation). He responded in a manner that I would have expected of the restaurant manager. After speaking with him, I feel he is striving to bring a fine dining experience to an area and people who may not have had the pleasure of experiencing this type of establishment. He has invited me to return as his guest, to show me they can do better. A+ that is the way to build a relationship with customers and keep people coming back. Expect another review to be posted, when I experience them again. At at Steak & Stone for a special “Seafood event”. Was very excited because they were serving my favorite fish, red snapper. Restaurant was very load, open room, no sound damping. Ordered shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. Waitress never brought me the appetizer. Main course arrived. Red snapper was set in grits. Snapper was over cooked and dry. I could not remove the meat from the scales. There was actually more scales then fish. Tried a few bites but could not tolerate it. The worst prepared fish I have ever had. Spoke to manager, I believe is name was Josh. He informed me they were supposed to receive the seafood on Monday but did not receive it until Thursday, which did not give them enough time to properly prepare it. Yet, they were selling it and serving it. Since I followed this restaurant on social media, they reported this was suppose to be delivered fresh on Friday, which was the night I arrived for my dinner. Make your own determination here. False advertising and sub quality seafood.

One of the best ribeyes I ever had, cooked the way I liked it medium rare and the flavor was beyond good. Went again and had the best prime rib I have ever had. 16oz with 2 sides 30 dollars great deal. Went a 3rd time for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was a flop. Our table was right in the middle of the floor where all the foot traffic was and near the front door very cold sitting at our table, should not have to dine with your coat on. Got our salads before the appetizer then after asking several times about our appetizer it finally came and of course our main courses followed as we were eating the appetizer. Our main course was not even luke warm which was prime rib with mashed potatoes and a filet with mashed potatoes. Very disappointed in the service the food and watched several disappointed customers leave. Oh one more thing how the hell do you run out of fresh baked bread on a Saturday after only being open an hour. Visit number 4 with friends in town from Florida and their fillets were well done not medium liked they asked for. My wife's chicken parm came out luke warm at best and my prime rib well let's just say it wasn't anything close to my second visit. I would of sent my friends steaks back but they did not want to make a big fuss about it. Also would like to share that they again just opened for dinner and it took almost an hour after our appetizer to get our meals.

Went there last weekend and there was a wait. That was fine. It was later in the evening when we were finally seated. Seated us in the dark corner in the front room, once again. Our waitress was an older lady with short dark hair. It was about 10 minutes before we were even greeted by her. She had ONE other table who had already ordered and were waiting on their food. Her service was awful. I would never go there again and allow her to be my waitress. She needs additional training. She forgot lemons for my water (I had to ask her again for them). We ordered a side salad, a burger and a large pizza. My kids were hungry and we were all splitting the pizza. She barely ever checked on us, while we waiting patiently for our food that took over an hour to arrive. She would just smile or wave from across the room. It was ridiculous. I had to shout across the room to her (because she would barely come over to our table), that I had ordered a side salad and had clearly told her when I ordered it that I wanted it before our pizza came out. She went and checked on it and brought it out. My side salad was warm and mushy like it had been sitting under the heat lamp. Close to an hour after ordering our food, I was out of water and out of patience. I took my empty drink to the other room where waitresses and what appeared to be a manager (lady with a long skirt that stood at the corner of the bar most of the night), and asked for a refill and for someone to check on our food because we had been waiting an hour and our waitress kept disappearing. The waitress was kind and refilled my water glass and then a few minutes later, our waitress brought out the pizza..but no burger. This pizza was half burnt and half undone, but we were all hungry and ate it anyways. It was gross. It tasted like cleaning supplies. I would never eat there again. The old lady waitress apologized that someone had passed away and someone new was cooking pizzas that night and had messed up our first pizza, so this was the second pizza that they trying to cook. NO ONE THOUGHT TO COMMUNICATE THIS TO US IN ADVANCE? I have hungry kids sitting there. You should have come over and explained that the pizza was burnt and asked if I wanted to order for something else that would be cooked quicker. This is not rocket science. There were at least 10-15 employees in there and no one could help the new pizza guy out for the night? We won't be back. Food was awful, but the service was just ridiculous. Manager never apologized or visited our table. Two random waitresses came up to our table before we left and asked if we needed anything? Yes, I need to leave and never come back. This is not how you run a restaurant. If the skinny lady with the glasses and long skirt at the bar was the manager, then she needs trained as well, because she clearly saw us in the corner waiting and waiting and said nothing the entire time. I advise against the pizza and going later in the evening closer to closing time because everybody just seems to care about cleaning and getting out of there..not...

This was our 5th time to eat here. And it's always been with family/friends celebrating an event. But on each occasion Steak & Stone has run out of several types of beer. And the last occasion we went was I believe 2 weekends ago. Four of us. We were seated at 5:00. There was a Miller Lite drinker and a Michelob ultra. Then the other 2, coke and water. So one special was a Scallops dinner. Went to order two of them, they were out. So one of them just ordered blackened chicken in cajin sauce. Then 2 of us was want the other special. Lobster with a tomato puree with vegetable in with it. And a chicken, shrimp alfredo dinner. So in the meantime the 2 men went to order their 3rd beer. Now they are out of Miller Lite. So they just get Ultra's. It took at least 40-50 minutes to get our food. But it was so cold in there I was shaking all over. I had to put my jacket back on. And we weren't even by the door. So we get our food. They left the chicken off the alfredo dinner. So they were supposed to be making one. Then the alfredo dinner he had was awful. It was watery and had way to much parmesan in it. The cajun chicken was so dry he couldn't hardly eat it. Now for the Lobster dinner. The Lobster it self was good. But the tomato puree was so spicy that my mouth felt like it was on fire. I tried another bite and it was worse. And the lady that got one to, said the same thing. So by now the guys needed something to wash down what they were trying to eat. The little waitress said I'm sorry but now we are out of Mic Ultra.... What, did someone forget to place the beer order? So they had to get Coors Lite. And I don't know how many times she apologize for all the trouble with the food and not having the beer. She was great. She was the best and kept saying she was sorry. Then she said where's your chicken, someone was supposed to bring it out. Well that thing was as hard as the table. It was ice cold. It had been sitting in the window for who knows how long. But the host came over as how things were and we told a little bit. She took the chicken back and took it off the bill but nothing else. None of us are the kind of people to tell yes we want the whole bill comp out. But I feel you should be aware of these things. It's going to be a while before the four of us eat at steak and stone again. We all said we need a break and maybe it will get back to the way it was when you...
