Bluegrass Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Leitchfield

Edit: I've changed my review from 4 to 5 stars. They were good to begin with, but in the times I've been back, the food has gotten even better with a great variety of items on the menu.

This is a good place to eat. It also fills a much needed barbecue restaurant void in this area. I've been here a couple times and have been very pleased with the quality of the food and service. Also the place looks fantastic inside. I only dock a star because 1) I do think the food is a little overpriced. There are deals to be had, but the regular menu is a bit steep. 2) The sides are quite small, especially for their price. I've only seen the coleslaw and macaroni as a side, but it comes in little tiny cups, the same ones that you get in elementary school for sides. I'd expect a little more. But overall, I can't fault this place much for trying to save and make money where it can, starting a restaurant is difficult around here. I will...

My first visit here. My lunch consisted of ribs, baked beans, and fries, and my host was the lovely Piper. My friends, I've been all over the US, and everywhere I go, I always sample the local BBQ! And I must say that I was astonished at how good the BBQ is at BlueGrass BBQ, it was among the best I've ever had, anywhere. The best I've had before was at the Hard Eight BBQ in Coppell, TX, and this ranks right up there with them!

Not only were the ribs extremely tender and delicious, but even the fries were seasoned and properly fried, they were not plain (as most places serve) and they were not undercooked (as so many places tend to do). I'll admit that I have a sweet tooth and prefer sweet BBQ, and BlueGrass BBQ made me very happy today!

Our family was camping near Mammoth Cave National Park this past weekend, on a windy night we were in search for some good BBQ! We found this place!!! The food was great and everyone in my family enjoyed their choices. What made the experience ever better was the people!!! Our waitress, Michelle, was helpful and fun. We got to meet Ron and his wife. We even struck up a conversation with the table next to us. When we got back out to our truck, our battery was dead. We walked back in inside for the number of a local tow company and a suggestion of a hotel.
